Not what I expected. Even Better!
I booked this excursion about 3 weeks before my trip and confused some details with a different excursion I planned. That’s on me. Leo my guide was amazing. Picked me up from my hotel and took me on an amazing hike that was a little more challenging than expected but manageable for novice hikers like me. He was very patient with me and stopped to show me the waterfalls. I would recommend brining a small towel and a change of clothes for after the hike or hot spring. Getting to see Wulai was an experience I’ll cherish for the rest of my life’s. Hot Spring hotel was clean and easy to navigate. I had a minor issue communicating directly with staff but nothing that affected my experience. The swan boat aspect was a little strange since I was a solo traveler and they require to people to operate. You’ll have a better time if traveling with a friend or partner.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We’re truly happy to hear that this experience became a cherished memory from your trip. We sincerely appreciate your kind words about Leo. His patience, passion for nature, and dedication to taking care of guests are qualities we value greatly, and we’re glad he was able to guide you on a hike that was a bit more challenging than expected yet still manageable and rewarding. Thank you as well for the helpful tip about bringing a small towel and a change of clothes—this is great advice for future travelers. We’re pleased to hear that the hot spring hotel was clean and easy to navigate, and we appreciate your understanding regarding the minor communication issue with the staff. Regarding the swan boat activity, thank you for pointing this out. You’re absolutely right that it’s better suited for travelers with a companion, and we’ll work on making this requirement clearer in the activity description to help solo travelers plan accordingly. Once again, thank you for your recommendation and valuable feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and show you even more of Taiwan’s beautiful landscapes in the future.

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Wulai Aboriginal Village, Waterfall & Hot Spring Private Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Taipei.
How much does Wulai Aboriginal Village, Waterfall & Hot Spring Private Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $307 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Taipei usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Wulai Aboriginal Village, Waterfall & Hot Spring Private Tour take?
+
Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Taipei is not rushed.
Is Wulai Aboriginal Village, Waterfall & Hot Spring Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Taipei, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Wulai Aboriginal Village, Waterfall & Hot Spring Private Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Wulai Aboriginal Village, Waterfall & Hot Spring Private Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Wulai Aboriginal Village, Waterfall & Hot Spring Private Tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Taipei can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Taipei and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Wulai Aboriginal Village, Waterfall & Hot Spring Private Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Taipei within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Taipei?
+
On Outty we rank every Taipei experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Private Custom Taipei City Tour, Private Tour to Jiufen, Yehliu Geopark, and Pingxi, Full-Day Private Northern Taiwan Tour from Taipei with Pickup. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Taipei?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Taipei?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
