Magical return to Nature in Wulai
Jennifer was our tour guide to a wonderful day in Wulai. Wulai was recommended by a local bar tender in Taipei. We are so glad that we were able to visit this beautiful spot. The memories of this trip will be long lasting! Jennifer was communicative and checked in with us ahead of time. As an LGBTQ+ couple, we felt very safe, and welcomed by Jennifer, which was a great relief as we explored rural Taiwan. (This was true everywhere we went in Taiwan - very LGBTQ+ friendly!!) She picked us up on time in a friendly and welcoming manner. From the get go, she was informative, and asked for our preferences for the tour, quickly reorganizing things so we could have the day suit our interests, while staying on time. Jennifer gave us options for hot spring spots, and showed us the stunning waterfall at Wulai, and the little train that took us to the old street area. We were especially impressed by the indigenous culture, which Jennifer introduced us to. The trip included a visit to the local museum, which we loved. There was time on the tour for conversation with Jennifer, but also for us to explore things on our own. We found a lovely cafe in the old street, and great food. The last part of the tour was visiting the Sun Moon Light hot springs. A beautiful facility with multiple outdoor pools with different temperatures. We loved this spot, and would have liked to stay there longer! The views of the mountains and river from the pool area are incredible. We would love to go back to this relaxing place in the future. Like Jennifer pointed out, “the mountain is always beautiful, no matter if it rains or shines”, we loved this kind of outlook and point of view in life, since the day of our tour was a drizzly winter day, nonetheless a beautiful day, with fog creeping through the mountains! Jennifer drove safely and made us feel comfortable throughout the trip. She offered to take our picture in different spots, and even drew a picture from one of the photos for us. We would love to have Jennifer guide us again in the future throughout Taiwan.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing this lovely and detailed review. We’re very happy to hear that you had such a memorable day in Wulai. It’s wonderful to know that Jennifer made you feel welcomed, safe, and comfortable, and that she was able to tailor the tour to your interests. We’re especially glad you enjoyed the waterfalls, the scenic train, the indigenous culture, and the museum. Wulai truly is a special place, even on a misty, rainy day. Thank you for choosing this tour and for your kind recommendation. We would be delighted to welcome you back to Taiwan and again in the future.

See the gorgeous Taiwan mountain region of Wulai
Wulai was beautiful! The mountain srive was ducj a cintrast to the city. We went during a storm but everything was gorgeous in the rain. Fujitsu was a very knowledgeable guide and he made sure we were safe and comfortable even in bad weather. I highly recommend the experience. I
Response from the operator: Thanks a bunch for the awesome review! 🌧️ Even the rain couldn’t dampen your Wulai adventure — that’s true traveler spirit! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the mountains, waterfalls, and Fujitsu’s expert (and heroic) guiding through the storm. He’ll be happy to know his umbrella skills paid off! Hope to see you again for another fun (and hopefully sunnier) trip! ☀️🚞🌿

Releasing Sky lantern to the sky is so much fun!
Me and my family had been so looking forward to this trip in Taiwan. I saw jiufen’s photos on internet it makes me get obsessed with it... old street and so on. The highlight of this tour is releasing sky lantern at the Shifen old street, which also a beautiful nostalgic old street. Looking forward to the tour tomorrow (there’re three days)!!!

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Wulai Nature Tour: Scenic Train, Waterfalls & Indigenous Cuisine: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Taipei.
How much does Wulai Nature Tour: Scenic Train, Waterfalls & Indigenous Cuisine cost?
+
Prices start at $119 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Taipei usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Wulai Nature Tour: Scenic Train, Waterfalls & Indigenous Cuisine take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Taipei is not rushed.
Is Wulai Nature Tour: Scenic Train, Waterfalls & Indigenous Cuisine worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Taipei, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Wulai Nature Tour: Scenic Train, Waterfalls & Indigenous Cuisine?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Wulai Nature Tour: Scenic Train, Waterfalls & Indigenous Cuisine suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Wulai Nature Tour: Scenic Train, Waterfalls & Indigenous Cuisine?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Taipei can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Taipei and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Wulai Nature Tour: Scenic Train, Waterfalls & Indigenous Cuisine start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Taipei within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Taipei?
+
On Outty we rank every Taipei experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Private Custom Taipei City Tour, Private Tour to Jiufen, Yehliu Geopark, and Pingxi, Full-Day Private Northern Taiwan Tour from Taipei with Pickup. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Taipei?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Taipei?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
