Amazing Experience with Passionate and Respectful Guides

If you want guides who truly care about animals and the environment, this is the company to go with. I really enjoyed the experience because the guides are incredibly knowledgeable and their top priority is protecting the ocean and marine life. We were lucky enough to see many animals, always with respect and care for their well-being. They also have great equipment, and I had an amazing time. The staff is also super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the kind words! Caring for the ocean and the animals is the core of what we do, so reading this really means a lot to the whole crew. Stoked you had a great time with us, and that the guides and the gear lived up to it. Come back anytime, the Sea of Cortez always has something new to show. Big hug from the DIP team!

Whale watching

From the original booking Eduardo kept in contact with us. Letting us know what to expect, gave us options to do if the whales left before we got there. They were very welcoming when we got to the boat. Very professional and friendly. Saw several whales. Experience of a lifetime. Then even guided us to the local shops after our outing. I can’t recommend them enough! When we go back we will use them again! 10 out of 5 stars!!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this! Honestly, the pre-trip communication is something we care a lot about because whales do whatever whales want, and we'd rather have you ready with a plan B than show up to a surprise. Super happy it all came together and you got to see them out there. And glad the local shop tips landed too, that's just part of the DIP welcome to Cabo. Whenever you're back in town, you know where to find us. Big hug from the whole crew!

Whale Watching in San Jose del Cabo: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Los Cabos.

How much does Whale Watching in San Jose del Cabo cost?

+

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Los Cabos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Whale Watching in San Jose del Cabo take?

+

Plan for about 2.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Los Cabos is not rushed.

Is Whale Watching in San Jose del Cabo worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 42 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Los Cabos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Whale Watching in San Jose del Cabo?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Whale Watching in San Jose del Cabo suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 7. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2.3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Whale Watching in San Jose del Cabo?

+

Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Los Cabos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Los Cabos and add a light layer if any part of the 2.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Whale Watching in San Jose del Cabo start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Los Cabos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Los Cabos?

+

On Outty we rank every Los Cabos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ziplining and UTV Desert Adventure from Los Cabos, Cabo 4x4 ATV Tour with Tequila Tasting and Mexican Buffet Lunch, Cabo Beach Camel Ride, Mexican Buffet and Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Los Cabos?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Los Cabos?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
