    Cruising through Tuscany

Great day touring Tuscany region in a Fiat! The Fiat did take some getting used to driving. We were the only car, the rest were Vespas. The winery stop was nice. They gave you a full meal.

Thank you for choosing us to have this experience. Hope to have you again in our upcoming tours in the near future, in order to give you more experiences like this one. Fiat fun in the sun.

Brush up on your manual driving skills and you'll be good to go. If you have driven a volkswagen beetle, pretty much the italian version. Beautiful country side. Great tour guide. Great host at the winery. Learned a lot of history of tuscany and the wine.

Response from the operator: Dear Customer, Thank you for your feedback! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful countryside, our knowledgeable tour guide, and the wonderful host at the winery. It's great to know you learned a lot about the history of Tuscany and its wine. We appreciate your tip about manual driving skills—it's true that a little practice can enhance the experience even more. We're glad you found the tour enriching and enjoyable. Hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon! Best regards, My Tour in Italy team.

    Must do!!!!

Of course, 1960s Fiat makes for an interesting challenge…and yes you can smell gas, but we LOVED this experience! The guide and other guests were so much fun. We bonded over laughs and poking fun at some lackluster driving moments, but this made for an experience we’ll never forget! The scenery, towns and wineries were outstanding. If we had a free day, we’d come back for the Vespa tour!

Response from the operator: Dear Customer, Thank you for sharing your feedback. Our customers are our priority, and we are happy to know that you enjoyed everything about this tour. Thank you for choosing us to travel through Italy. Hope to have you again in our upcoming tours in the near future, in order to give you more experiences like this one. Best regards, My Tour in Italy team.

    Pretty Dry "Tour"

To be fair, the description says you will be accompanied by an "escort", not a guide. However, our escort said as little as he could possibly get away with. We didn't know what town we were in unless we specifically asked him. He even seemed reluctant to guide us with hand gestures in and out of parking situations. So you have a working a car, and some stops in some cool towns, but nothing like every other "tour" I've booked in various places around the world, during which you are made to feel really welcome and usually have some quality interactions with the guide. It is what it is, but I don't think it deserves a high rating, just on this basis. As long as you know what you are getting, fine. If it were only that, I would give it another star, but we paid for the pickup/drop-off, over 100 Euros for two 20 minute rides, and they simply abandoned us at their warehouse (at least in our perception--I really can't say if anything was happening in the background). Things happen, I know, but when we got back to the warehouse with our cars and scooters, the leader/representative (or whatever he was) never said a word to us--turned his back and started toward his personal car. I chased him down and asked about my return ride and he said just wait here 5-10 minutes (in about 4 words). Then he left. It seemed kind of obvious to me that no one knew we were there waiting (all other guests seemed to have their own transportation and were gone) and after a half hour we were getting pretty anxious--we were alone at a warehouse in a little dingy office with really not much of an idea of where we were or how to find a taxi. I had trouble getting the tour operator's phone number to work--I think there is a typo at one location in the operator info--but finally got in touch with them and the lady got someone there in about 10 minutes to take us back. So it worked out in the end after waiting 45 minutes or so. I disputed the transfer charge with Viator (at Viator's suggestion) and was denied, the operator saying that it was a traffic issue, out of their control. Again, things happen, but the fact that we were just left there with really no idea what was going on, along with the nearly total lack of communication even during the tour, adds up to something I wouldn't do again. Re the cars, they are what you would expect. A little oil smell, a grabby clutch, no turn signals, no seat belts, etc. All part of the fun and it always started. However, even if you have driven manual transmissions, this one takes a little time to get used to. I wouldn't want to learn on it, but I enjoyed it. Also, realize that the pickup/drop-off is not to your hotel, but to a location in Siena that was about a 20 minute walk for us. The Fiat ride itself starts and ends in Badesse, a town near Siena.

Vintage Fiat tour- a one of a kind experience. It’s not for everyone.

The countryside was absolutely gorgeous, we enjoyed the hill towns, winery tour and the light lunch. We’ll love telling stories about the drive in the vintage Fiat, but frankly we were worried it would break down so many times. Fortunately, my friend who drove the car was familiar with this model- otherwise, it would have been a disaster. The others in our group were on Vespas, and I think they enjoyed the comic relief we provided in the Fiat. I wish our tour leader would have joined us and engaged at the stops we made. It was such a unique experience/ very hard to give an overall rating. In the end, we were really happy we did it.

Response from the operator: Dear Customer, Thank you for taking your time and sharing your feedback with us. We are glad to know that you had a beautiful experience and enjoyed the tour itself. As you've said too, Fiat is a Vintage vehicle and for this reason it may have seemed a little bit scary for you and like the car was going to break down. You didn't have to worry at all, as the vehicles are controlled before the tour starts to be sure that our customers will drive safe. There is no danger to drive the Fiat or Vespa either. The tour leader has been always at the disposal of each customer and was taking care of everyone, sorry for the moments that you've felt like wasn't engaging you enough at each stop. Overall, we are happy that you experienced a unique tour with us and hope we will have you again in our upcoming tours in the near future, in order to give you more experiences like this one. Best regards, My Tour in Italy team.

Vintage Fiat 500 Tour: Lunch and 2 Wine tastings in the Chianti: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Gimignano.

How much does Vintage Fiat 500 Tour: Lunch and 2 Wine tastings in the Chianti cost?

    +

Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Gimignano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Vintage Fiat 500 Tour: Lunch and 2 Wine tastings in the Chianti take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Gimignano is not rushed.

Is Vintage Fiat 500 Tour: Lunch and 2 Wine tastings in the Chianti worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 52 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Gimignano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Vintage Fiat 500 Tour: Lunch and 2 Wine tastings in the Chianti?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Vintage Fiat 500 Tour: Lunch and 2 Wine tastings in the Chianti suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Vintage Fiat 500 Tour: Lunch and 2 Wine tastings in the Chianti?

    +

Around 18 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Gimignano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Gimignano and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Vintage Fiat 500 Tour: Lunch and 2 Wine tastings in the Chianti start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Gimignano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in San Gimignano?

    +

On Outty we rank every San Gimignano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Wine and food tasting in an organic family winery, Tuscan Cooking Class, Tuscany Wine Tour: 2 Wineries & Chianti from San Gimignano. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Gimignano?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Gimignano?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
