Great cooking class in the countryside right outside of San Gimignano

Podere La Marronaia is located just a short trip from the historic San Gimignano town-center, with great views of the hilltop town and towers from their patio and from the second floor cooking class-room we were in (makes for great photos). All individuals working there were polite and friendly, we had Leonardo as our private cooking class teacher and he was great, super friendly and efficient with time. We had the chance to make bruschetta, pici and ricotta gnocchi (as in photograph) and a mascarpone-based dessert. After completion of the ingredients and forming the pasta, it is cooked for you while you go to the patio and begin the wine and oil tasting, which was also great with a wide-selection of both and balsamic varieties to try. The patio is covered and offers views of the vineyards surrounding as well as San Gimignano. Total length of the class and eating was about 3 hours, not rushed and certainly enough time to enjoy everything. Great experience overall.

If a sunbeam reached down from heaven, this is where you'd be

Like cooking in your Italian Nonna's kitchen and tasting Nonno's best wines. If at all possible, you MUST stop here! In the cooking class , you learn to make an authentic meal, dessert included, for your family and friends. Taste what GOOD olive oils are supposed to taste like . The wines were superb! -- to the palette and eye. Be prepared to be treated like family while relaxing in the peaceful Tuscan countryside --- treat yourself ; you owe it to yourself; you deserve it!

Private cooking class with a wine & olive oil tasting

My husband & I enjoyed the experience we had from start to finish with Chef Leonardo leading us in making an appetizer, pasta dishes and a truffle tiramisu dessert. We enjoyed the courses with a wine & olive oil tasting. This was a true highlight of our trip to Italy.

3-hour Tuscan Cooking Class with Wine & Oil Tasting: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Gimignano.

How much does 3-hour Tuscan Cooking Class with Wine & Oil Tasting cost?

    +

Prices start at $190 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Gimignano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 3-hour Tuscan Cooking Class with Wine & Oil Tasting take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Gimignano is not rushed.

Is 3-hour Tuscan Cooking Class with Wine & Oil Tasting worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 40 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Gimignano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 3-hour Tuscan Cooking Class with Wine & Oil Tasting?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 3-hour Tuscan Cooking Class with Wine & Oil Tasting suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 3-hour Tuscan Cooking Class with Wine & Oil Tasting?

    +

Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Gimignano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Gimignano and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 3-hour Tuscan Cooking Class with Wine & Oil Tasting start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Gimignano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in San Gimignano?

    +

On Outty we rank every San Gimignano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Wine and food tasting in an organic family winery, Tuscan Cooking Class, Tuscany Wine Tour: 2 Wineries & Chianti from San Gimignano. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Gimignano?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Gimignano?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
