Unique Journey

thanks to the operator Mani, we solved all the obstacles during this trip. We accidentally got dosmetic flight cancellation, and Mani help us settle down immediatedly. He also provided flexible schedule for us. Though we had our own plan, he still kindly provided transportation for us. As for guide, I really thank to Nisa(or Lisa? sorry that not knowing the name spelling) in Kathmandu and Sudam in Mustang. We learned a lot of detailed historical stories, cultures, religion from him. Very impressive. And Sudam, who is an expert of outdoors and trekking, carefully caring all daily necessities we need during the 7-day-journey: water suppliment, food, toilet, road safety…Without him, we couldn’t have such an incredible journey with safety. There’s still a little pity that I originally predicted to learn a lot of geography, culture, history, religion of Mustang during this trip. I still learned many fun facts from our guide, but not as deep ad I expected. I learned much more from the Lamas and internet searching from myself. Overall, I am grateful for The Great Adventure Trek & Expedition. Without the staff’s care, I can’t complete and experience such a great unique journey.

Everything was very well organized, and we sincerely thank the team for the wonderful hospitality, smooth arrangements, and professional service. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique Himalayan experience with cultural and natural beauty. ✨

Amazing tour in Nepal and Mustang

Mr. Mani and all his team made our trip in Nepal perfect. The trip was perfectly organised and all the requests we had (before starting the tour) were completely satisfied. Moreover, he also provided better accommodations than requested, he gave us beautiful gifts at the end of the trip and he invited us for dinner. Rajan, the guide that took care of us in Kathmandu, was amazing. He explained in the clearest way, making our city tour amazing. Shubam, our mountain guide, took great care of us during our walks and the Mustang tour; he was always available to solve issues and he made us go beyond our fears to better experience the trek and the activities in the mountain. I really want to thank Mr. Mani for everything; among all the places I visited, Nepal was one of the best trips I've ever had, mostly because this company made our tour more than perfect. Please get in touch with him if you want to travel to Nepal, he is the best agency you can travel with!

Upper Mustang Trek: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Upper Mustang Trek cost?

+

Prices start at $1477 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Upper Mustang Trek take?

+

Plan for about 408 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Upper Mustang Trek worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Upper Mustang Trek?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Upper Mustang Trek suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 14. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 408-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Upper Mustang Trek?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 408-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Upper Mustang Trek start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
