A great, no-stress way to explore Tulum!
Fantastic experience. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but the knowledge, detail, friendliness and professionalism was well worth it. Our guide, Eddy, and our driver, Enrique, made it a memorable experience. We truly "beat the crowds" as there was only one other couple at the park when we first arrived - by the time we left 90 minutes later, we could see it was going to be a busy, crowded day. The experience was no-stress - Eddy and Enrique were at our hotel 5+ minutes early, we didn't have to worry about traffic, they had our park passes set to go and knew exactly what they were doing. Plus we learned more about the Mayan culture in that short trip than what we had on our bus tour to Chichen Itza plus a day at Xcaret the two prior day. Highly recommended!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your thoughtful review of your Tulum Express private tour. We're happy the early access, smooth organization and no-stress pace made the visit so memorable. It's great to hear you learned so much about Tulum and the local culture along the way. We truly appreciate your recommendation!

Small group, early tour is the way to see Tulum ruins
While in Playa del Carmen, we purposely looked for tours that would include pick up from our hotel. For Tulum, we wanted an early small group tour and this hit the mark. We were picked up at 7am. It's early when you are on vacation but the crowds as well as the heat, builds as the day goes on. It was close to an hour drive in an air conditioned van large enough for the 8 in our group. They provided chilled water bottles. On the drive, our guide Luis gave us some history of the area and it's people. The private tour included admission into the park so we sent right in. The immediate area had a small museum of the animals and people that had inhabited Tulum as well as a gift/museum type store. We stopped at both after touring the ruins. There are tram cars that run you to the actual ruins. We walked around them while hearing more about who lived there and architectural details. Then we rode back to the museum. After getting in the van, we made a quick stop at a tourist area to grab souvenirs and hydration drinks. We were back to the hotel by about 11:30. It was a great tour with the right amount of time to see everything important. Very happy we went early with a small group.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your lovely review of your Tulum Express private tour. We’re glad the early start helped you enjoy the ruins before the crowds and that the experience worked so well from Playa del Carmen.

Private Express Tour of Tulum was just what we wanted.
I highly recommend Absolute Adventure's Private Express Tour of Tulum. Cristina, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. We learned a lot about Tulum and had a beautiful day exploring the ruins. We were looking for a tour where we could see Tulum but be back at a reasonable time to enjoy our afternoon at our hotel. We left our hotel at 7:30 am and were back by 1:30 pm. While it says express, we never felt rushed and felt it was just the right amount of time.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind recommendation. We are delighted to hear that you had such a positive experience with our team, and we would be pleased to welcome you again in the future. Indeed, the Express package allows you to visit only the ruins without additional options, but we leave it to you to go at your own pace and complete the full visit of the site.

Highly recommend Absolute Adventure!
We had a private tour with Absolute Adventure and were so happy we did. We took a short trip to visit the Tulum ruins and Joshua and Ivan were our guide and driver. Not only were they very punctual and attentive and friendly, they provided amazing service. As we were walking around the ruins, Joshua took extra time to explain so many different points on the ruins. He used his iPad to show us images of what the ruins used to look like. He is not only knowledgeable about the ruins, the history and culture but also the wildlife around the area. We saw many other tour groups and they were not getting the same level of service and information we were. I would highly recommend using Absolute Adventure Private Tours The group sizes are small. The vans are incredibly comfortable. The service is outstanding.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave such positive feedback. We're really glad you had a great time with our team!

10/10 Experience with Josh & Yosmar
We had an excellent experience on the Tulum Express Early Tour—starting early truly made all the difference and allowed us to beat the crowds and enjoy the ruins in a much more relaxed way. Everything was well organized and ran smoothly from start to finish. Our tour guide Josh was outstanding—extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely kind. He explained the history and significance of Tulum in a clear and interesting way, and was always happy to answer questions. A big shout-out as well to our driver Yosmar, who was very friendly and professional. The ride was comfortable, safe, and punctual, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you want to visit Tulum ruins without the crowds and with a fantastic guide and driver!
Response from the operator: Thank you for providing feedback on the private tour to Tulum. We are pleased to hear that you had a very positive experience with our team and that the tour met with your satisfaction.

Tulum Express Private Tour – Early Access Beat the Crowds: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does Tulum Express Private Tour – Early Access Beat the Crowds cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Tulum Express Private Tour – Early Access Beat the Crowds take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.
Is Tulum Express Private Tour – Early Access Beat the Crowds worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 67 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Tulum Express Private Tour – Early Access Beat the Crowds?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Tulum Express Private Tour – Early Access Beat the Crowds suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Tulum Express Private Tour – Early Access Beat the Crowds?
+
Around 23 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Tulum Express Private Tour – Early Access Beat the Crowds start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
