We will do a hike around the place to admire the splendor of this magnificent place. After that, we will enjoy a dip in the natural pools, a unique experience! Private family tour

We did 3 full day private tours with my extended family and 2 small grandkids. The itinerary was perfect, integrating archeological sites, artisan workshops, wonderful lunch spots and nature. Everything was top notch. The little ones got a chance to get involved and they loved it. Omar was wonderful and or driver Santiago was accommodating, flexible and patient. Omar was extremely knowledgeable and a very good communicator. He made the experience come to life. He also made some wonderful restaurant recommendations for the evening . I recommend them for any and all travel in this area.

Response from the operator: Hi Mapaa.. Hola, and thanks so much for this wonderful review. We were able to see many of Oaxaca’s highlights during your visit and of course, there’s lots more to experience. I’m glad you enjoyed the integration of archeological sites, artisan villages, and of course the spots for lunch and nature. I hope to see you again, if your travels bring you back to my wonderful state. Kind regards. Omar

    Wonderful day with Omar!

We had a wonderful tour with Omar! He took us to the mineral waters ,Hierve el Agua, where we had a short hike to the pools and dipped our feet in the water. The highlight was going to visit his friends home, Ray and Julissa, where they make beautiful tapestries and yummy chocolate. omar was very flexible and did not rush us at all. Highly recommend Omar as a guide and a visit to Huella Carmen, the artisans home.

Response from the operator: Hi Margie, Thank you very much for such a nice review. It was my job to make sure you enjoy your Tour with us. We are very happy to know you had a wonderful time with us. I will pass the compliments to Rey David and Julissa. Thank you again for choosing us and I hope to see you next time soon in Oaxaca again. Kind regards Omar Rito

Loved Our Tour with Omar Rito - 5 stars+

Our group of five senior citizens spent an amazing week traveling around Oaxaca and our favorite day, hands down, was spent with Omar Rito. From the minute he picked us up in the morning until he dropped us off twelve hours later, we enjoyed every aspect of our private tour. Omar has a great personality, warm and calm with a wonderful smile, and we all felt very comfortable with him. He is organized, professional, attentive and flexible. His van is new, comfortable, and he drives very well (which I appreciated). His spoken English is fantastic and he was able to converse on any topic we chose - personal, politics, arts, science, environment, economy, you name it. He drove us first to Hierve el Agua, stopping for an authentic (and tasty) breakfast at a small family-owned roadside restaurant (Comedor Citlali). The hike and mineral pools at Hierve el Agua are beautiful - Omar kept a good pace for us and allowed us time to rest when we needed it. From there we visited the archeological site of Mitla where Omar shared his extensive knowledge about the history and construction of this national treasure. After a delicious lunch at Rancho Zapata, we visited the lovely family of artisans at Huella Carmin (shout out to Ray David and Julisa) where we had fantastic workshops in natural wool spinning and dying, rug and textile weaving, and Oaxacan chocolate making. We spent many pesos buying their high quality goods, all at great prices. As I said to Omar at the end of the day, he really hit it out of the ballpark with our tour. The husbands, the wives, the friends, we all loved it. Thank you, Omar!

    Great Oaxaca Trip! Thanks Omar!

We had an excellent experience with our tour guide, Omar. He drove us safely and comfortably on several long trips over the course of four to five days. Throughout the journey, we felt completely relaxed and confident in his driving. Omar was also extremely knowledgeable and provided valuable insights and information about the places we visited. We truly appreciated his professionalism, friendliness, and dedication. I would highly recommend Omar to anyone seeking a safe, informative, and enjoyable travel experience.

    Omar is the best!

Oaxaca Experience Tours came recommended by a friend who lives in Oaxaca. Omar was an incredible tour guide. He was happy to speak English or Spanish, and from the moment we met him he felt like an old friend. His history of Oaxaca and the surrounding areas is immense, and his food recommendations were wonderful. We packed a lot into two days, but never felt rushed. The vehicles we traveled in were clean and comfortable, and Omar always had water and even snacks to share with our entire group. I couldn’t recommend his company enough, and if I ever go back to Oaxaca I hope to see them again!

Response from the operator: Hi Matt, Thank you very much for taking the time of writing this wonderful feedback. It was my pleasure to share with you the magic of Oaxaca. As you said our main goal is to ensure our clients feels comfortable and safe in our vehicles. Also, we love to share with our clients the best places to eat Oaxacan food. I hope you keep this wonderful experience in your memories. Please keep us posted about your next visit to Oaxaca. We will be more than happy to show you Oaxaca again. Tule, Hierve el Agua & Mezcal Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oaxaca City.

How much does Tule, Hierve el Agua & Mezcal Experience cost?

    +

Prices start at $8400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oaxaca City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tule, Hierve el Agua & Mezcal Experience take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oaxaca City is not rushed.

Is Tule, Hierve el Agua & Mezcal Experience worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oaxaca City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tule, Hierve el Agua & Mezcal Experience?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tule, Hierve el Agua & Mezcal Experience suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tule, Hierve el Agua & Mezcal Experience?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oaxaca City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oaxaca City and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tule, Hierve el Agua & Mezcal Experience start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oaxaca City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oaxaca City?

    +

On Outty we rank every Oaxaca City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include AUTHENTIC OAXACA CULTURAL FOOD TOUR, eat like a local., Hierve el Agua 2.5 hours, Mitla, Tule, Rugs and Mezcal for a Day, Traditional Oaxaqueña Cooking with Grandma's Recipes. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oaxaca City?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oaxaca City?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
