Caballero's characteristic style is abstract-figurative Expressionism. One of his main themes are characters from his imagination with infinite stories, in them we see round and square eyes because, as he says, it is the way that everyone sees the world, through their own experiences. Alexis is a young artist on whom you have to set your eyes, you have to know and recognize his work, because his art is spectacular, and because he is part of the new generation that in a few years will be recognized - even more - as one of the most important artistic currents in Mexico.

In the pictorial work of Jesús Cuevas it is possible to find various techniques, such as French impressionism, due to the handling of color and the atmosphere that is romantic and for all the elements that make it up, which make it a classic. The colors and textures that he creates with artistic techniques capture moods that become the protagonists of each of the pieces.

In Eddy Vasquez's work, it is those powerful memories of the past and of his own family history that animate some of his works. Individual creations, whose technical prowess dialogues with a natural and biodiverse world: grasshoppers, mantises, palm trees, pochotes, elephant feet, willows. His continuous experimentation with substances to make textures seek to recreate a deep landscape with diverse colors, joy, music and movement.

Maestro Manuel Miguel's workshop will enjoy his current artistic work. His work has multiplied in various techniques (sculpture in metal, ceramics, wood; graphics, oil, acrylic, graphic design, etc.). With a neat creativity he paints like a fantastic chronicler his dizzying fauna and flora. Builder and architect, fascinated by geometric shapes, networks of meaning and the modern world of interconnection.

Wow wow wow!
This is a fantastic experience! José and his daughter Maria took us to remarkable Oaxacan artist’s studios. This authentic tour, showed us the talent that resides in and around this charming city. Our guides were kind, patient, and was no pressure to buy. However, the art is so amazing it is hard to resist. Frankly this is a terrific value! Jose is very passionate about his culture and his gallery, Oaxaca Arte Mio, had beautiful pieces at a good price as well. I will do the tour every time I come to Oaxaca. I am going home to find room for some pieces, and then coming back.

Art lovers dream tour
This was an exceptionally amazing tour! The guide picked us up at our VRBO and took us on a Magical Mystery Tour. He took us to the homes and studios of well known Oaxacan artists along the outskirts of town. The artists welcomed us and all our questions about their fantastic artworks were answered. Our tour guide knew a great deal about the art world in Oaxaca. He was enthusiastic and full of energy. I went all the way to Oaxaca from Los Angeles to see what the art community is like there, and that tour was exactly what I was looking for. For those of you who are artists or art enthusiasts, this is the unique Oaxacan tour for you!

Amazing Contemporary Art Experience—A Highlight of the Trip
The private tour of artists’ studios and workshops in Oaxaca with Oaxaca Mío was an absolute highlight of our trip to Oaxaca. We met five completely thrilling contemporary artists working in a variety of styles and mediums and producing breathtaking pieces. Jose Antonio, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and asked great probing questions to create fascinating conversations with each artist. It was such an illuminating experience to hear the artists talk about their practices and influences, and the tour left me with a deep appreciation for Oaxaca’s role as a vibrant hub of cultural creativity. Overall, the art was beautiful, the artists were welcoming and fascinating, and the guides facilitated an experience that was illuminating and fun. I can’t recommend this experience highly enough.

Visit to workshops and studios of contemporary art artists: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oaxaca City.
How much does Visit to workshops and studios of contemporary art artists cost?
+
Prices start at $103 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oaxaca City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Visit to workshops and studios of contemporary art artists take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oaxaca City is not rushed.
Is Visit to workshops and studios of contemporary art artists worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oaxaca City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Visit to workshops and studios of contemporary art artists?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Visit to workshops and studios of contemporary art artists suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Visit to workshops and studios of contemporary art artists?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oaxaca City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oaxaca City and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Visit to workshops and studios of contemporary art artists start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oaxaca City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Oaxaca City?
+
On Outty we rank every Oaxaca City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include AUTHENTIC OAXACA CULTURAL FOOD TOUR, eat like a local., Hierve el Agua 2.5 hours, Mitla, Tule, Rugs and Mezcal for a Day, Traditional Oaxaqueña Cooking with Grandma's Recipes. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Oaxaca City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Oaxaca City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
