100% for hunting and point loss for the restaurant.

We loved truffle hunting with our great guide and his two dogs: Lili (6 years) and Lena (5 months in apprenticeship). “We” found 8 truffles!! It was an exceptional experience! Then we had the meal in the restaurant, were able to taste olive oil which is very good and balsamic vinegars. My disappointment is with the meal, good but not striking. Wines, for my taste: good thirsty wines.

    Wonderful adventure

Great winery with wonderful people. The truffle adventure is a wonderful experience as well as the cooking class afterward. We have also ordered their fine products online and had them delivered to our home. We must say every time we order the delivery went seamlessly.

Truffle hunting and cooking in Tuscany, who could ask for more!

Such a wonderful experience to go on a truffle hunt and learn all about, where they are food, how they grow, and how the dogs are trained. Then to come back to such a beautiful winery/farm and have a great cooking experience making lunch and sampling the wonderful flavors of Tuscan cooking.

A Fabulous experience in San Gimignano......not to be missed!!!!

The entire cooking class experience was outstanding! Our host David escorted us to the upstairs cooking kitchen, where Chef Patrizia awaited us. We were told that we would prepare 4 dishes, which then would be cooked, if necessary, by Chef Patrizia; then we would be served each dish accompanied by appropriate wine pairings. When we first arrived, David gave us an overview of Podere La Marronaia and a tour of the property, before taking us to the cooking class. The fact that truffles were incorporated into each dish enhanced the excitement and, ultimately, the wonderful tastes of each dish. The making of the dishes was fun as we were expertly guided by the chef and David and our creations actually looked good and eventually tasted even better!!!! We cannot overstate the quality of Podere La Marronaia.....it's people, it's programs and the wines and food. If you are in the San Gimignano area, please do not miss the chance to participate in one of their program offerings!!!! Grazie mille!!!!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your amazing words, we are very happy that people enjoy our cooking class experience. We put a lot of effort into our work so we are extremely happy to have people like you with us, enthusiastic and kind people who are willing to learn. Thank you again and let's hope to have you here again! Marronaia family

Truffle Hunting & Truffle Cooking Class: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Gimignano.

How much does Truffle Hunting & Truffle Cooking Class cost?

    +

Prices start at $361 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Gimignano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Truffle Hunting & Truffle Cooking Class take?

    +

Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Gimignano is not rushed.

Is Truffle Hunting & Truffle Cooking Class worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Gimignano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Truffle Hunting & Truffle Cooking Class?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Truffle Hunting & Truffle Cooking Class suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Truffle Hunting & Truffle Cooking Class?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Gimignano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Gimignano and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Truffle Hunting & Truffle Cooking Class start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Gimignano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in San Gimignano?

    +

On Outty we rank every San Gimignano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Wine and food tasting in an organic family winery, Tuscan Cooking Class, Tuscany Wine Tour: 2 Wineries & Chianti from San Gimignano. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Gimignano?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Gimignano?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
