Great Guide! Just a bit too much in one day for us.

Our tour guide was wonderful and gave us great insight into all of the places we visited! Our driver was also excellent. However, I think this tour was wayyy too much for one day. Plus Bhaktapur Durbar Square is very far away and we were in traffic forever going and coming back so we didn’t really get to do much while there (mainly because we were exhausted and many things were closed). I’d recommend people do Bhaktapur Durbar Square as it’s own tour or maybe start with it to avoid evening traffic.

Response from the operator: Namaste Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re glad you enjoyed the guidance and service provided by our team. We also appreciate your suggestions, which help us improve future experiences. We look forward to welcoming you again for a more relaxed and rewarding tour in the Himalayas. Thanks and Regards, Team Shepherd Holidays

Fantastic first day in Kathmandu

Ananta made my first day in Kathmandu an unforgettable experience. He was so knowledgeable about every site we visited, and was just an all around great and friendly person. I feel more connected to Kathmandu and to Nepal because of his guidance. Bijay was also an expert driver for our tour!

Response from the operator: Namaste! Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We’re delighted that your first day in Kathmandu with Ananta and Bijay was such a memorable and meaningful experience. It’s great to hear you felt more connected to the city and its heritage. We hope to welcome you back soon for more incredible adventures in the Himalayas! Thank you again.

Bhaktapur, Patan and more.

This was a great tour. My guide Ananda explained everything about the Palace Squares and we visited hands on demonstrations of pottery making, wood carvings and even singing bowls. Our driver Bijay made me feel safe the whole trip. We were going up windy roads and was raining at times, but drive was so enjoyable. I would recommend taking this tour. Having a guide makes such a difference, especially at places like Bhaktapur that are spread out over a large area.

Response from the operator: Namaste and warm greetings from the team at Shepherd Holidays! Thank you so much for your kind review. We're glad you had a wonderful time exploring the Three Durbar Squares with Ananda and felt safe and comfortable with Bijay, even through the winding roads and rain! Your appreciation for the hands-on experiences and cultural insights means a lot to us. We’d love to welcome you back again for more enriching journeys—perhaps even a trek to Annapurna, Everest or another cultural adventure across Nepal. 🙏

Three Durbar Square Private Day Tour in Kathmandu: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Three Durbar Square Private Day Tour in Kathmandu cost?

+

Prices start at $5 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Three Durbar Square Private Day Tour in Kathmandu take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Three Durbar Square Private Day Tour in Kathmandu worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Three Durbar Square Private Day Tour in Kathmandu?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Three Durbar Square Private Day Tour in Kathmandu suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Three Durbar Square Private Day Tour in Kathmandu?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Three Durbar Square Private Day Tour in Kathmandu start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
