Discover the Grand Harbour area opposite Valletta known as the Three Cities – Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea, where the Knights of St. John first settled in 1530. Driving past Cospicua we reach Vittoriosa for a guided walking tour through the narrow streets in the shade of historic buildings, including the first auberges of the various langues of the Order. At the Vittoriosa waterfront we take a typical harbour boat (dghajsa) for a tour of the colourful harbour creeks. Beautiful streets.

Our guide was Ninka, she was very well organised and gave a lot of historical and cultural detail. The boat trip was great and the streets we walked through were picturesque.

    Too Strenuous for this Geezer

This was a very strenuous activity. A late start took away the brunch/lavatory break. The uphill climb to the bus at the first stop caused us to leave the tour early. Not a happy camper

Response from the operator: We are sorry that you found the excursion more strenuous than expected. The excursion is advertised as including a walking tour, and the published accessibility information states that “Most travelers can participate.” A break was provided at the Vittoriosa waterfront, where there are cafés and restaurants with restroom facilities, as well as public toilets approximately 170 metres away. The uphill walk mentioned forms part of the route through Vittoriosa to reach the coach. We regret that you chose not to continue with the excursion.

    Disappointing but interesting

This tour started badly as the bus was over 20 minutes late. The tour was interesting and the guide enthusiast and knowledgeable however as she was addressing 2 different languages in the group it took her twice as long to describe/explain each stop and hence a lot of time was spent waiting. The boat cruise was shorter than expected with no guide and again as each boat only took 6 we waited to get on and again once we got off to gather the group. We were disappointed at the huge amount of time spent waiting around in the already shortened tour due to the late start.

    Excellent half day tour.

This was an excellent well organized tour from pick up to drop off. Knowledgeable, engaging guide that struck the all important balance between talking and looking! Lovely boat trip, manageable group size and built in comfort stops given the heat. Most enjoyable, many thanks.
