What you get
About this experience
Our guided tour through the vibrant streets of Valletta will allow you to discover the beauty and charm of the fortified city built by the Knights in 1566. The order of St. John ruled over the islands for 268 years and left a unique cultural legacy of which Valletta is the prime example. We first enjoy a breathtaking view of the Grand Harbour from the Upper Barracca Gardens. Then we visit St. Johns Co-Cathedral, including the Caravaggio masterpieces in the Oratory. The Co-Cathedral houses one of the most beautiful marble inlaid floors in the world. Going down Republic Street you will walk past the Grand Masters’ Palace (outside view only) and the recently restored St. George’s Square before watching the Malta Experience, an audiovisual show where Malta’s history throughout the centuries is brought back to life.

Great Tour & Guide, very rude Transfer supervisor
Did the walking tour today. Overall, brilliant few hours. Coach picked us up on time and we were in Valletta by 09:30. Elizabeth our guide was great - very knowledgeable, funny and kept both the information and walking at a pace suitable for everyone of the 20+ in our group. The only negative came right at the end of the day upon leaving the Malta Experience Film. Once the film finished, many people including my own wife and 2 children, queued to use the toilets prior to leaving for the bus journey home and arrived at the bus maybe 5-10 mins after the bulk of the group. The lady in charge of the bus was very irate because of this and proceeded to lecture everyone on the bus over a microphone - as if we were schoolchildren, about the fact that people had in her opinion, taken far too long to return to the bus and that we should already be on our way. She was quoting people arriving 30 mins after the end of the film - it finished at 13:50, we were underway by 14:08. When one of the passengers replied that we had not been informed of a leaving time - which we genuinely hadn't, she basically got into an argument with him saying that he was lying, that people had been shopping and that if he continued he would be asked to leave the bus. When we all left the bus she did not apologise to the gentleman and continued to insist that it was he who had been rude. She also refused to share her name or show her name badge so that he could complain. Overall she was very rude and extremely unprofessional. For the transport, the tour and the guide it's a 5, for the rude lady in charge of the bus transfer back to the db San Antonio on 25/5/26 it's a 1 at best. SMS if you're reading this, she needs to go on a customer relations course.
Response from the operator: Good afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the tour, transport, and guide overall, and we truly appreciate your positive comments in this regard. At the same time, we are sincerely sorry to learn about the unpleasant experience you encountered during the return transfer following the Malta Experience Film. Please accept our sincere apologies. We understand how important clear communication and professional customer service are, especially during organised excursions. We genuinely value constructive feedback such as yours, as it helps us improve the experience we provide to all our guests. Thank you once again for bringing this matter to our attention, and we hope that despite this incident, you returned home with many positive memories of your day.

Our guide, Helenia, was excellent, but some negative aspects were out of her control.
Our guide, Helenia, was excellent, but some negative aspects were out of her control. The St John's Co-Cathedral headphones kept cutting off the audio for all our group of 3, and I suspect they all did the same for everyone. The Malta Experience was hot and airless with no aircon. The film started 10 minutes late, and a lot of people started to drift off to sleep before the end due to the heat and stuffiness. My headphones kept cracking. I changed seat to use some others but they did not work at all. My husband gave me his working ones and had my cracking set. Because it was dark you couldn’t see what you were doing when messing about with faulty headphones.
Response from the operator: Good morning, Thank you for your feedback. We will reach out to the relevant sites and share your comments to help prevent similar disappointments in the future.

This tour was ok once it got started.
The tour guide was extremely unorganized. She had trouble getting in touch with the bus driver. Our tour started about 45 minutes late.
Response from the operator: We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the tour and that it was rushed. We will be investigating further to make sure that this will not happen again.

Good but too fast a pace given very hot weather
Very fast paced- and not enough adaptation to weather conditions. Guide was very knowledgeable but she did not adapt at all to the extremely hot weather
Response from the operator: Dear Ms. Jane, We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the tour and that it was rushed. We will be investigating further to make sure that this will not happen again.

Very poor because it was...
Very poor because it was late departing. The guide had no audio assistance and unless you were standing right next to her you could not hear what she was saying. People complained but there was nothing she could do at that tme
Response from the operator: Good Afternoon Michael We are sorry about the above and we will be seeing to this so it will not happen again.

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Valletta City of the Knights 3.5-Hour Walking Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Valletta.
How much does Valletta City of the Knights 3.5-Hour Walking Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $26 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Valletta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Valletta City of the Knights 3.5-Hour Walking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Valletta is not rushed.
Is Valletta City of the Knights 3.5-Hour Walking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Valletta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Valletta City of the Knights 3.5-Hour Walking Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Valletta City of the Knights 3.5-Hour Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Valletta City of the Knights 3.5-Hour Walking Tour?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Valletta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Valletta and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Valletta City of the Knights 3.5-Hour Walking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Valletta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Valletta?
+
On Outty we rank every Valletta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Valletta Food Tour, The Original Valletta Walking Tour, Valletta Walking Tour, In a Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Valletta?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Valletta?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
