An exhilarating way to see our capital city
What a fantastic way to experience London! Our Thames Rocket tour started off gently, cruising along the Thames while taking in all the iconic landmarks and enjoying the beautiful sunset and skyline. And then… the skipper opened the throttle! 🚤💨 What followed was an exhilarating burst up the Thames, with the wind in our faces and just the right amount of adrenaline. It was so much fun! A special mention to our tour guides, Sofia and Bill, who were brilliant – friendly, informative and great fun, making the whole experience even better. It’s a little on the pricey side, but as an experience gift it was absolutely worth it. Well organised, exciting and a brilliant way to see our capital city from a completely different perspective. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something a little different to do in London!

Unforgettable experience!
Unforgettable experience! This was organised by my very kind Boss. Very well organised tour from beginning to end. A big thank you to Matt and Stacey, who was informative and funny as our tour guide. Once Matt could speed up he surely did with confidence & skill. The music blasting out was a nice touch! Great fun and a must do if you are in London, you won't regret it!

Thames cruise
Imogene was great! She was energetic and exuberant. The music was an added bonus.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the great review! We’re so pleased to hear Imogen brought so much energy to your experience. We hope to welcome you back onboard again soon!

Fantastic fun, and a lovely company to deal with
An amazing experience. I wasn’t expecting this trip to be quite as lively as a white-knuckle ride but after a lovely sedate 20 minutes up the Thames at twilight watching the sun set that’s what it was once they hit the accelerator - 15 or 20 minutes bouncing around on a twisting rollercoaster (definitely not for the faint-hearted!) then the last part back to normal speed with a welcome drink and brilliant and informative commentary from Steve on the sights passing by as we headed back to the pier. Doing this in the evening made for an even more enjoyable ride with the scenery lit up all around. I also must praise the staff who I dealt with on the phone while trying to sort out a trip using a voucher bought through Red Letter Days. RLD were completely useless (the website is clunky, there’s no phone-based customer service, only an unhelpful web chat agent) but Thames Rockets (especially Robban) were brilliant, even responding to my initial enquiry with a personal follow-up email and an offer to run a trip on a non-scheduled day as I was struggling to get everybody in my party together before the voucher expired. The guys on board and at the pier were also friendly and great to deal with. A* from me.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re so pleased to hear you enjoyed the evening experience and that Steve and the wider team made your trip so enjoyable. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to Robban and the team. We hope to welcome you back onboard again soon!

Why this scores 78
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Thames Rockets Sunset London Speedboat Experience: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.
How much does Thames Rockets Sunset London Speedboat Experience cost?
+
Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Thames Rockets Sunset London Speedboat Experience take?
+
Plan for about 0.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.
Is Thames Rockets Sunset London Speedboat Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 244 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Thames Rockets Sunset London Speedboat Experience?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Thames Rockets Sunset London Speedboat Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 0.8-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Thames Rockets Sunset London Speedboat Experience?
+
Around 85 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 0.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Thames Rockets Sunset London Speedboat Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in London?
+
London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit London?
+
May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in London?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
