The best choice for first timers

I highly recommend this tour for those who come to Georgia the first time, as within just one day, you will see so many places both historical and natural along Georgian Military Road, enjoy fantastic views along the way, taste a local cuisine and you will then realise how actually diverse such a small country is from all possible perspectives, and it’s actually just a tip of the iceberg. The tour guide was quite friendly and knowledgeable and you will definitely enjoy a warm and relaxed atmosphere

The Georgian Military Road truly showcases the incredible diversity of our country, from its rich history and culture to its breathtaking mountain landscapes. Mountain Views

The tour was a scenic and beautiful experience. It was my first time seeing snow as i live in a hot city. Michael made sure i didn’t feel alone on the group tour. He was a knowledgeable guide providing historical insights but it didn’t feel like a history class. He was light hearted, funny and encouraged questions. Highlights included the Zhinvali Reservoir, Anunari fortress, Gudauri's friendship monument and a church at the top of the mountain.

Response from the operator: Snow for the first time in Kazbegi is a core memory ❄️🏔️ So glad the journey felt scenic, light, and fun while still bringing the history to life in an easy way. That mountain route really knows how to stack highlights one after another. Hope it left you with a bit of Georgian mountain magic that stays with you long after the trip 🇬🇪✨ — Teona Views Georgia Tours

    A beautiful scenic experience

I had such a lovely time on this tour and made so many wonderful memories. Throughout the whole trip we had a knowledgeable tour guide who told us the history as we went along .We saw the Zhinvali Reservoir .. it was breathtaking.. seemed like a background from a movie. Then we went to the Anunari fortress which had the background of beautiful mountains and saw the monestary as well. After this we went to Guduari and saw the famous friendship monument. This was followed by a drive to kazbegi where we took a jeep up to Gergeti. Oh and we had stopped for lunch and wine tasting at this cute restaurant on the hill and I bought a bottle of wine there- the prices of the wine are so affordable. Overall, the whole trip was amazing. Thanks Teona for setting this up.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this beautiful review. I’m really happy to hear that this day trip created such special memories for you. Kazbegi and the Georgian Military Highway truly feel like a movie set, and I’m glad you felt that magic at Zhinvali Reservoir, Ananuri Fortress, Gudauri, and especially up at Gergeti. It’s wonderful to hear that the history, landscapes, and little local touches like lunch and wine tasting made the journey even more enjoyable. Thank you for trusting me to set this experience up for you. It was a pleasure, and I hope Georgia stays in your heart long after the trip 😊

    Best experience ever

We chose the private tour to Kaspeki and it’s the best decision we’ve ever made. The road was quite long, but we enjoyed the view and the beautiful sights of the church. Our driver was very good, cheerful, and polite, and his driving was much safer compared to other drivers that we saw. Also, they took us to eat at an amazing family restaurant, where the prices were very low And the food was 🤤 delicious. An amazing experience And I would definitely do it again

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely review. I’m really happy to hear that choosing the private Kazbegi tour turned out to be such a great decision for you. The road is long, but the views, the churches, and the mountain scenery truly make the journey special, so I’m glad you enjoyed every part of it. It’s also wonderful to hear your kind words about the driver, safety and comfort are always a top priority for us. I’m especially happy you enjoyed the family restaurant and the delicious local food. Those authentic places are always a highlight. Thank you for trusting me with this experience, and I would be more than happy to welcome you back again for another trip 😊

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tbilisi.

How much does Tbilisi to Kazbegi, Gudauri, Ananuri and Gergeti Guided Day Trip cost?

    +

Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tbilisi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tbilisi to Kazbegi, Gudauri, Ananuri and Gergeti Guided Day Trip take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tbilisi is not rushed.

Is Tbilisi to Kazbegi, Gudauri, Ananuri and Gergeti Guided Day Trip worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tbilisi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tbilisi to Kazbegi, Gudauri, Ananuri and Gergeti Guided Day Trip?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tbilisi to Kazbegi, Gudauri, Ananuri and Gergeti Guided Day Trip suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tbilisi to Kazbegi, Gudauri, Ananuri and Gergeti Guided Day Trip?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tbilisi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tbilisi and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tbilisi to Kazbegi, Gudauri, Ananuri and Gergeti Guided Day Trip start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tbilisi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tbilisi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tbilisi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tbilisi:Evening Walking & Talking Tour with Wine & Boat Ride, Kakheti Wine Region Tour + 10 Premium Wine Tastings & Sunset, Tbilisi:Mtskheta,Jvari,Bazaar, wine tasting,Chronicles of Georgia. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tbilisi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tbilisi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
