    Five star experience

I cannot say enough good things about this tour and I know there are several other similar tours but I doubt they would top this one. The weather was dreadful but it did not affect our day at all. Our guide Kye was a real gem, she has lived on the Island for 40 years and she gave an amazing summation of the Islands history. After a short drive around the Island our first stop was at an Olive grove where we sampled some awesome Olive oil, pesto spread and some manuka honey. The girl that explained the process of extracting the oil and the different flavours offered was so passionate about their history and our entire group thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We then went onto the first of our 3 wineries and we stopped at Batch winery for lunch. I can honestly say that the food and wine was deserving of Michelin star grade, there was a choice of Snapper, Ribeye steak or crispy pork belly. I had the pork belly and it was sooooo delicious and the crackling cooked to perfection. The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and welcoming. Everything about our lunch experience was top notch, the glassware was beautiful crystal and the cutlery and crockery were beautiful and helpful staff. We then went on to another winery Casita Mira where we sampled 1 white wine and 3 red wines, all were delicious and the hostess was very professional and gave an excellent description and background of each wine, the property had a lot of Antoni Gaudi type art which was amazing and replicated the Spanish artists work perfectly. Our last stop was at Mudbrick winery which was set high up on a hill with amazing views. The hostess at that winery was charming and her knowledge and description of their wines was faultless, she really knew her stuff. This tour included a return ferry ticket with Fullers, you need to go into the Fullers office located right at the wharf and get your return ferry tickets first and then line up at Pier 11/12, take a photo of the tickets once you get them in case they get wet. Overall it was an amazing day with outstanding tour guide, food and wine and I would absolutely do it again if I return to Auckland.

    Nice tour and our driver...

Nice tour and our driver (Victor) was great. The only downside was the poor joining instructions. Your meeting point is actually on Waiheke Island and not at the Downtown Ferry in Auckland. Viator need to fix this.

Response from the operator: Hi Ian, Thank you for your review. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed your Taste of Waiheke Tour and Victor as a driver. Sorry to hear some things were not as expected. As for your experience with arrival and ticketing instructions, we hope this has now been addressed through the updated advice given to customers on Viator. If there's anything else you'd like to give us feedback on, please don't hesitate to contact us at fullers.co.nz/help/contact-us. Kind Regards, The Fullers360 Team

A worthwhile day out in Auckland.

Food & Wine tour was good with beautiful views and fantastic lunch. Poor arrival & ticketing instructions provided. Make sure you get tickets from operator (Fuller's 360), otherwise you'll have trouble getting on the ferry.

Full Day of beautiful Views and amazing Wine!

We weren't sure about doing a full day tour versus a shorter one but we fortunately made the right choice! Full day was the way to go. Every stop along this tour was enjoyable and informative. The included lunch was delicious and provided an opportunity to interact with the other people on the tour. The lunch back drop is also phenomenal! Massive vineyard with a beautiful coastal view. Our guide really capped off this experience. Funny, knowledgeable, and an overall pleasure to explore the island with. 5 Stars. May be the best Viator experience we've had.

Taste of Waiheke Food and Wine Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Auckland.

How much does Taste of Waiheke Food and Wine Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $145 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Auckland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Taste of Waiheke Food and Wine Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Auckland is not rushed.

Is Taste of Waiheke Food and Wine Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 505 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Auckland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Taste of Waiheke Food and Wine Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Taste of Waiheke Food and Wine Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Taste of Waiheke Food and Wine Tour?

    +

Around 177 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Auckland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Auckland and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Taste of Waiheke Food and Wine Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Auckland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Auckland?

    +

On Outty we rank every Auckland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hobbiton & Waitomo Caves Guided Day Trip from Auckland incl lunch, Hobbiton Movie Set Small Group Tour with Cheeky Kiwi Travel, Hobbiton & Waitomo Glowworm Caves Tour with Lunch from Auckland. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Auckland?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Auckland?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
