    Amazing day

We experienced all 4 seasons in one day but that did not stop John providing an amazing tour. He was knowledgeable and flexible and did everything to ensure we saw and experienced everything. John was great, tour was great, wineries were great. Do yourself a favour and book this tour.

    Wine Tour and Rainforest experience

John is by far the best guide we've ever had. The experience he provided went far beyond wine tasting. Not only did we enjoy exceptional wines, but we also gained valuable insights into New Zealand's culture, history, and geography. John's passion for what he does shines through in every part of the tour, and he thoughtfully adapts the experience to your interests and pace. I highly recommend this tour to anyone-it's engaging, memorable, and suitable for guests of all ages.

Response from the operator: Hi Dre, Thank you so much for the kind words — this really made my day. I love sharing this part of New Zealand, and it's guests like you, genuinely curious about the history and the land and not just the wine, that make the job so enjoyable. Really glad you had a memorable time, and I hope to show you around again next time you're in New Zealand. My very best regards - John McFarlane

Top notch tour and experience of black sand beaches with wine tasting

John is incredibly knowledgeable, engaging and above all, flexible. He was able to put together an amazing itinerary at the last minute. The respect that he has among his peers is very evident and he was able to leverage those relationships to plan a memorable experience for my daughters and me. It goes without saying that the views were spectacular and the wine and food were top notch. I highly recommend this experience to everyone and thank John again for this exceptional tour!

How much does Piha Waitakere Rainforest Wine Tour from Auckland cost?

    +

Prices start at $178 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Auckland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

Is Piha Waitakere Rainforest Wine Tour from Auckland worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 216 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Auckland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Piha Waitakere Rainforest Wine Tour from Auckland?

    +

Around 76 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Auckland and add a light layer if any part of the 6.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Auckland?

    +

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Auckland?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Auckland?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
