great kiwi guide and birds if only we got given the fruit too ;-)
We started out tour at the sky tower picked up in a nice van and given commentary on route. on arrival we were given great gear, some fun toys and a briefing. we went at a time the guide said was incubation period so the cheeky males were not out and about as much. we were so lucky still to have seen some kiwi and our guide was great at expectation management although we felt sorry for him doing his best. thanks heaps you guys at social nature xx

We can make this trip better actually.
We watched Morepork and Kiwi. This experience is unforgettable, but the Kiwi we can’t take any recording. When we found one on the ground, everyone is too excited and i believe that we scared him, and then he was gone…..

Indeed, after 2hrs and the guide generously extending this tour by 30mins, you did see one at the very end and everyones excitement was not surprising.

Thanks to Paz - a successful night of kiwi spotting
This was an excellent tour and Paz was an exceptional guide! We were lucky to spot 4 kiwis on the night (Tues 30 June) - 1 female, 2 males and a juvenile - all relatively close and happy to go about their business for a minute or two while we watched before heading into thicker bush. I'd highly recommend it for anyone interested in wildlife.
