    Amazing tour with amazing...

Amazing tour with amazing food. Got to try many restaurants that I would not normally have gone to without a guide. I even went back to some after the tour. Would recommend. They were very accommodating to food sensitivities/allergies.

Response from the operator: Oh, I love hearing this! One of my favourite parts of the tour is introducing people to places they might never have discovered otherwise, so knowing you went back afterwards makes me very happy. I’m also so glad you felt well looked after with your food sensitivities. Thank you for the lovely recommendation, and hopefully I’ll see you on another tour one day!

    Yummy!

Had a great time sampling some of Aucklands fare. Our tour guide JK was great.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much! We’re delighted you had such a great time exploring Auckland with JK — he certainly knows his way around the city and its food! One of the things we love most about our Auckland tours is getting to show off just how good our food scene has become, from brilliant little local favourites to restaurants recognised by the Good Food Guide and now Michelin, awarded restaurants too. There’s an extraordinary amount of talent in this city and we’re incredibly proud to share a taste of it with our guests. Thanks for joining us and hopefully we’ll get to feed you on another Big Foody Tour next time you’re in New Zealand! Elle & The Big Foody team x

    The Perfect Start to Auckland

Truly amazing experience! My partner and I were lucky to have the talented and knowledgeable Laura all to ourselves. We had the opportunity to sample various local fare as well as learn more about the city and it's food scene. This was a great way to not only get orientated, but to also gain an appreciation for the city's incredible restaurants and their history. Thank you so much Laura for the memorable experience! We highly recommend this experience to anyone!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for such a lovely review! We’re delighted you had such a brilliant time with Laura and even better that you got her all to yourselves! For us, food is one of the very best ways to get to know a city. It’s not just about what you eat, but the people, places and stories behind it, so we love hearing that the tour helped you get your bearings and discover a little more about our wonderful food scene. We’ll make sure Laura sees your very kind words. Thank you for joining us, and hopefully we’ll get to feed you again somewhere else in New Zealand on another Big Foody Food Tour one day! Great tour for foodies

JK was a great guide. I learned alot about the city and got to experience some great foods. Finding the pickup spot was a bit tricky as there was no signage saying we were in the right spot so maybe having the building name as well as the address could be helpful. I really enjoyed that there was a variety of foods and different settings. My two favorite stops were getting the dumplings in the commercial Bay food court and GOAT.

Response from the operator: we LOVE Goat! Thanks so much

Auckland: Flavours of our City Food Walk: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Auckland.

How much does Auckland: Flavours of our City Food Walk cost?

    +

Prices start at $124 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Auckland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Auckland: Flavours of our City Food Walk take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Auckland is not rushed.

Is Auckland: Flavours of our City Food Walk worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 482 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Auckland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Auckland: Flavours of our City Food Walk?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Auckland: Flavours of our City Food Walk suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Auckland: Flavours of our City Food Walk?

    +

Around 169 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Auckland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Auckland and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Auckland: Flavours of our City Food Walk start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Auckland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Auckland?

    +

On Outty we rank every Auckland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hobbiton & Waitomo Caves Guided Day Trip from Auckland incl lunch, Hobbiton Movie Set Small Group Tour with Cheeky Kiwi Travel, Hobbiton & Waitomo Glowworm Caves Tour with Lunch from Auckland. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Auckland?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Auckland?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
