Aussies experiencing Taiwan Island with a local.

We give the tour a 5. In the planning stages, Charlie put us on to our driver and guide, Martin Yang. We worked with Martin to create a round the island tour that incorporated nature walking, waterfalls, geoparks, national parks, coastal scenery, mountain experiences, cultural exposures such as a tea ceremony with Mrs Yuan or lunch at a small hakka restaurant near Taichung or lunch at the Tjerik Indigenous tribe village on the east coast. We visited a very high tea plantation and had silky tofu with fresh wasabi and crispy skin chicken with crispy fried fresh thinly slice ginger We visited the National Earthquake Museum, which was a great activity. We also did other museums on the extra day we toured with him in Taipei. We visited a variety of old streets and historical sites, and released our flame balloons in Shifen. We saw thermal areas and hot springs, and Sun Moon Lake. We travelled in a 7 seater VW van and there were 4 of us. The cost for the tour was set, whether we travelled with 2 or 6. Martin also sent to me 3 or 4 options for hotels at each nightly destination. We could go through them on the internet and select the one we wanted and pay directly. We did pay quite a lot to stay at Alishan Hotel right inside the high mountain National Park, but it was awesome and enabled us to hike in the park and take the train. Martin was scrupulously on time, very attentive and fun, flexible and considerate of our needs. We would highly recommend the tour for the whole experience was beautiful and very interesting.

Response from the operator: Thank you for giving we such a good review.

Amazing circle tour of Taiwan Island with a local driver/guide

It was easy to organise from Australia, and Charlie put me on touch with our guide/driver, Martin earlier. Both men were great communicators and always answered. Martin gave us a few hotels in each end destination to look at and we chose and booked our own accommodation. Martin was super friendly, willing to be flexible, always thinking of our comfort. He worked into the itinerary singe hostory, National Parks, hiking, coastal scenery and drive, beach time, high mountains, cultural activities such as lunch at a little hakka restaurant and a tea ceremony with Mrs Yuan up in Alishan, and we also went to a few vet interesting museums such as the Hakka Museum and the National Earthquake Museum. We added on an extra day trip tour of Taipei City. He was willing to pick us up from Daton, Old Taipei, near Dihua Street where we explored our first two days, and willing to drop us off to a fantastic airbnb opposite the W Hotel in Xinlin, a easy walk to Taipei 101 and on the Blue metro line. Martin's car was a 7 seater van and there were only 4 of us. It was always clean and comfy and room for our bags. The whole trip was great value for money and reasonably priced.

This is the best tour I have ever been on!

This tour is the best tour that I have ever been on. After traveling to so many countries and going on so many tours all around the world, this trip to Taiwan stands out as the best travel experience we have ever had. Charlie is the most amazing tour guide! He is, kind, patient, genuine, funny, and is super flexible with my family's schedule and needs. He took us to all the best local spots that we otherwise would have never gotten a chance to go had we been traveling by ourselves. The tour felt like traveling with a local through Taiwan where we were so immersed in the culture rather than the superficial feeling that you often get when you go with a big tourist group. Riding in the back of his van cruising along the east coast with the rain drizzling down and the waves crashing into the cliff underneath will always be a core memory for me. This trip made me fall in love with Taiwan and it's all thanks to Charlie!

Response from the operator: Thank you for giving we such a good review.

Mark is a fantastic guide and driver. Highly recommend!

This review is for Charlie's multi-day classic tour company around Taiwan, and in particular for our guide Mark. The experience has been wonderful from the beginning (planning stage, before our arrival in Taiwan) to the very end. Based on our experiences of hiring professional private tour guides across the world, this company's experience ranks in the top 10%. Mark is diligent and meticulous in catering to our family's particular needs and interests. He listens well and communicates well, and flexibly recommends trip adjustment when there is inclement weather. All of his sights and restaurant recommendations have been excellent and unique experiences. All of us (our family of 4) enjoyed his service and company tremendously. The trip is fully customizable depending on the clients' needs. - beyond general sightseeing, thus I recommend prospective clients to think deeply about what experiences they care about (e.g., , food, indigenous culture and history, nature, children activities, particular interests such as religion, tea, or whisky, etc.), and communicate this to Mark / Charlie. They will make it happen. Next time we are in Taiwan, we will use this company again. I will think of a different set of experiences. We recommend this company highly! - Jon

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your affirmation of the quality and attitude of our company's services. In particular, Mr. Mark is our company's best tour guide. His service is enthusiastic and attentive and has been well received by customers. We look forward to having the opportunity to serve your family again in the future. Thank you! Charlie

    Very good

(5th Jan - 13th Jan 2024). Charlie was recommended to us by another Taiwan driver . He is pro and sincere. We told him our ideas where to go. He will help us by fine tunning it. He will also give us some options in choosing the places of interest. Has given our friends his contact number. Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Thank you for giving me such a good review. 👍 Charlie

Taiwan Multi-Day Classic Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Taipei.

How much does Taiwan Multi-Day Classic Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $2600 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Taipei usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Taiwan Multi-Day Classic Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 192 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Taipei is not rushed.

Is Taiwan Multi-Day Classic Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Taipei, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Taiwan Multi-Day Classic Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Taiwan Multi-Day Classic Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 192-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Taiwan Multi-Day Classic Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Taipei can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Taipei and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Taiwan Multi-Day Classic Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Taipei within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Taipei?

    +

On Outty we rank every Taipei experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Private Custom Taipei City Tour, Private Tour to Jiufen, Yehliu Geopark, and Pingxi, Full-Day Private Northern Taiwan Tour from Taipei with Pickup. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Taipei?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Taipei?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
