    Outstanding Cooking Experience

Cooking Fun Taiwan is a lovely cooking studio a short walk from Taipei 101. The owner Vivian has a clean and well organized kitchen in a welcoming environment. Our instructor, Serena, was AMAZING. She was genuinely interested in making sure we had a wonderful experience. My husband, who is not a cook, felt so comfortable and she was so encouraging and kind. Everything we prepared was delicious and she took photos and videos along the way. If you’re looking for an authentic cooking experience with an exceptional instructor, book this tour immediately. We had so much fun.

An Excellent Introductory Experience to Taiwanese Cooking

Summary: My wife and I visited on only our second day in Taipei, and we were very pleased with this experience. There were no language barrier issues (English) and the quality of instruction was great if not a little fast. The food was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location: Head south from Sun Yat Sen Memorial Station (Exit 2) on the MRT Blue Line It is on the second floor of a small building. There is a sign outside. The surrounding area is pretty and has some cute food places (though after this lesson we were not hungry :D)! Lesson: The entirely of the course was translated by one of the staff who was also capable of performing the cooking tasks, they were very friendly. We had an open class with two other families (9 people total). The expectation was that you had some knowledge of cooking skills; they were happy to help those who did not know how to execute tasks, but it went a little more slowly because they had to help. When necessary they stepped in to take over some of the tasks. We cooked the dishes mentioned, and were able to eat the dishes after completing them. They made accomodations for those with dietary restrictions if those restrictions were made beforehand. Everything was delicious and we had a wonderful time! Additional Notes/Tips: We booked this through Chase Travel Experiences - Chase Travel has it written that transport/pickup from your hotel is included, but this is inaccurate. Please travel here by your own means. They sell associated goods that we used during our cooking class; if you can plan to take something back with you, please plan accordingly.

How long does Taiwan Traditional Delicacies Experience, Xiao Long Bao, Chicken vermicelli with mushroom and sesame oil, Tofu strips salad, Bubble milk tea. take?

Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Taipei and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Taipei?

    +

On Outty we rank every Taipei experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Private Custom Taipei City Tour, Private Tour to Jiufen, Yehliu Geopark, and Pingxi, Full-Day Private Northern Taiwan Tour from Taipei with Pickup. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Taipei?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Taipei?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
