Swimming with turtles with tour guide Armando
We had a really nice experience swimming with turtles with Ulises Experiences. We saw a lot of turtles as well as some beautiful fish, which made the tour definitely worth it. Our guide Armando was great. He knew a lot about the different fish and turtles we saw and explained everything in a clear and interesting way. He was also very friendly, spoke excellent English, and gave us some useful tips for things to do in Tulum and Akumal. He also took lots of photos and videos during the tour and sent them to us afterwards, which was a really nice bonus. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend Ulises Experiences, especially if you get Armando as your guide! Janneke and Micky

An Excellent Way to Swim with Turtles
The trip with Ulises was amazing. No crowded boats. No competing with the 20+ people we saw on other tours all trying to get a good view of the turtles and other sea life we saw on our tour. Ulises had everything available we might have needed for the snorkeling trip. He gave us a very personalized tour. He showed us plenty of turtles and pointed out other interesting sea life along the way. We even spotted things he says he rarely sees on tours. An excellent tour. Highly recommended!

Swim with Turtles in Akumal: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does Swim with Turtles in Akumal cost?

Is Swim with Turtles in Akumal worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Swim with Turtles in Akumal?
+

Is Swim with Turtles in Akumal suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Swim with Turtles in Akumal?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Swim with Turtles in Akumal start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chichen Itza from Cancun : Cenote, Valladolid and Mayan Cuisine, Ride to a life changing cenotes tour, From Playa del Carmen ATV Adventure with Ziplines, Cenote. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
