It is a walk through a little visited part of London unknown to many tourists . Sweeney Todd's barbers shop supposedly stood at 186 Fleet St on the corner of Hen & Chicken Court according to the original story published in a penny dreadful magazine in 1845. Fleet St is also the former newspaper publishing area of London with small alleyways, hidden places and old pubs dating back to just after the Great Fire in 1666.

Great guide but Sweeney Todd fans can skip
Misleading, I understand there is limited information on Sweeney Todd but I would have preferred a shorter and intern cheaper tour. There were so many side steps and history about the knights templars and random historical events which are interesting on their own but not what I spent about 70 pounds for and two hours. I enjoyed our guide, she was nice and very informative. I don’t recommend and I think the tour should be renamed something else because this doesn’t feel geared towards Sweeney Todd fans.

Great guide
The guide did her homework. Knows the hidden trail through London and the mix of history both before and after the London Fire. Covers the build up and cross overs between stories of Jack the Ripper and Sweeney Todd as well as other relevant history in the block, including the knights Templar. Not for pre-teen kids and crowd can get split easily if not attentive.

Not quite Sweeney Todd
Jenny was a great host and very knowledgeable. She took us around the surrounding areas of Fleet Street. Her passion for the subject shone through. However, although elements of the tour were about Sweeney Todd, the majority of the walk consisted of history of the Medieval Knights Templar. Suggestions would be to mention this before people book, OR change the name of the tour to “History of North London Inc. The Legend Of Sweeney Todd” etc.
Response from the operator: As I took time to explain at the beginning there is not enough information about Sweeney to fill a 1.45-2.00 hour tour but there are 5 stops about Sweeney Todd and only 1 is about the story of the Knights Templar, the stop outside Temple Church? There are also many stops about the local area buildings and other historical figures who, have lived around Fleet St EC4 (not North London) and it's court-ways and alleys and hidden away places which most people do not know about.

Interesting Walk Needed More Sweeney Though!
I did the Sweeney Todd walk. There was actually very little about Sweeney Todd. Lots of other subjects brought in - Jack The Ripper, The Knights Templar, Dr. Johnson etc. The locations were lovely and unusual and it was overall enjoyable. The guide was a little scatty though but full of knowledge, even if a little haphazard!

As I did explain at the start there is just not enough info to do a whole two hour tour just on Sweeney Todd alone so although I go to the sites of Mrs Lovett's pie shop and Sweeney's barber shop, I also include these beautiful locations connected to the other subjects you mention, as they are really worth visiting.
