    Amazing visit to Stonehenge!

Our guide Nicolas Irving (Nick) was excellent; we highly recommend booking with him! He was proactive, thoughtful and clearly had our best experience in mind. He contacted us the day prior, to confirm our plans and advise an earlier departure time in order avoid crowds. Our travel to and from Stonehenge was smooth, and Nick shared helpful and interesting facts and recommendations throughout the journey. He checked in frequently to gauge comfort level and tailored our visit accordingly. The highlight of our experience was a beautiful scenic walk from the visitor center to Stonehenge, recommended and led by Nick. The entire family (my husband and our two teenage sons) absolutely loved it, and will cherish the memory. It is clear Nick has a deep knowledge of and love for this site, which made our experience all the more meaningful. It was worth every penny, and we would absolutely book with Nick again.

Response from the operator: Hi Erin, thanks for the stellar review. It really was a perfect day out to Stonehenge with the walk, weather & the Great Bustard as well as your shared enthusiasm for this epic destination.

    Excellent guide

Excellent guide. Very insightful and good pace to see Stonehenge thoroughly. Enjoyed being picked up at the airport as we could not check in until the afternoon so this option really worked well for us.

Response from the operator: Thank you Mark for your review which i appreciate. Very pleased that you all enjoyed your day out to Stonehenge.

    Inspirational and Family Flexible

I must have opened 50 browser windows trying to find the right time, itinerary, car, age appropriateness, etc. for a tour. From experience, let me humbly advise: stop searching and book Nick and English Private Tours now with total confidence. Not only was it one the best tours imaginable but all logistics were super easy and flexible. My review is the perspective of a family of 4 from the USA (kids ages 6 and 8) but he’ll sort any customizations needed for your group. Of course, Nick knows everything Stonehenge; I’m sure other guides do too. What set this experience apart was that Nick is clearly uniquely captivated by Stonehenge and by the end, I expect your family, like ours, will be too. We went in expecting to see an ancient unsolved mystery, but Nick’s tour showed us how the broader topography and intricate details actually explain much of Stonehenge, and in doing so he in fact makes it all the more astonishing! Stylistically, he leads the tour with reverence for the broader setting and massive respect for its creators and their accomplishments that’s communicated in a way that lets their story tell itself - one doesn’t need stamp books and programs to be engaged here. My kids loved hearing the “science” of it whereas I left really appreciating its sacredness. For those wondering about kids and logistics. Mine were 6 and 8 and easily engaged the whole time. Nick reached out before the tour to confirm logistics. He picked us up from our home stay in central London in an immaculate, very safe Mercedes van with wifi and was totally accommodating of our tardiness and itinerary requests . He also used the drive to give a little bonus tour of the landmarks and neighborhoods heading out of town and on the way. Pro tip: if Nick asks you if you want to take a special walk during the tour, say yes, and you’ll get an incomparable treat. I seriously never write reviews, but especially now having seen the vibe from group or self guided tours and even other guides, I can’t imagine feeling how we do now about our Stonehenge experience without Nick sharing his passion, insight, and experience with our family. Book confidently. Enjoy your tour!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for taking the time to post such a thoughtful & thorough review. I'm very pleased that you & your amazing family had a great day out of London to explore my favourite place when on Earth. I hope that your photos turned out well, & have wonderful holiday in London & Paris. I hope to see you all again when you are next in England. Many thanks. Nick

    The Best

The tour was absolutely superior. Rather than simply regurgitating facts, Nick brought both detailed subject matter expertise and passion - he was able to bring Stonehenge and it’s history to life for us. If you want an experience that will leave you thinking, this is the one for you,

Response from the operator: Thank you Marty for this review. I'm so pleased that you and your family enjoyed our day out of London and our drive to Stonehenge and our walk up to this ancient and magnificent wonder. It was great to speak to a fellow Canadian as well !

Stonehenge Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does Stonehenge Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $1200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Stonehenge Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is Stonehenge Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Stonehenge Private Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Stonehenge Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Stonehenge Private Tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Stonehenge Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

    +

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

    +

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
