Bring your hiking boots & plenty of stamina
City built on a mountain-side, so bring your hiking boots and plenty of stamina. Interesting architecture, limited parking, and plenty of touristy shops.
Response from the operator: This person is judging me, blaming me because of Sintra geography (unbelievable uh), being hilly. Even more incredible The TripAdvisor Viator review content team insists on not removing this comment (affecting my evaluation negatively). eih Viator Staff, knoc knoc, he is speaking about the territory... This person was NEVER my guest. I DO NOT offer any type of hiking tours. I tour only use urban areas and I provide a VEHICLE for the guests to move around. This makes no sense but TripAdvisor Viator does not care about the providers (Evaluations) of the tours (I) offered. They keep sending me automatic messages blaming me for the Sintra topography. How “amazing” is that?! My advice, Yes use comfortable shoes not just in Sintra but everywhere – tourism destination - in Portugal (is hilly).

Wonderful Day With Nuno
Yesterday we had a wonderful full-day tour of Sintra with Nuno Sophiatours. We covered a lot, learned a lot and and the logistics were orchestrated perfectly. Nuno is very knowledgeable and a very pleasant guide. We, a family of four adults, two older and two younger, would recommend Nuno as your tour guide anywhere near and around Lisbon. Five gold stars!
Response from the operator: Hello Beth Thank you very, very much for this review. So much glad you enjoyed, taking good memories, and I, honored to have been your choice to guide you on this tour. Will continue to do my best and motivated as so, from your king appreciation. I want to send my warmest Regards and wish you all the best. Travel safe, always.

Sintra: a Historic Layer Cake of Portugal
Nuno picked us (family of 4) up at the Sintra station and we toured from his vehicle to: -Pena Palace -Moorish Castle -Quinta da Regaleira (including a walk through The Well) -Cabo da Roca This included ~15k steps and ~1000ft of elevation, though we explicitly asked to maximize walking, and Nuno gave us options to walk less. Sintra itself is a layer cake of the history of Portugal, from pre-pagan through modern times, and the sites seen are an excellent way to experience this. It's also naturally very beautiful, and we had excellent weather. Nuno had a program of information to share that touched upon all aspects of this history, but what I appreciated most was his willingness to flexibly go "off topic"; I interrogated him on 20th century history, current geopolitics, and other destinations off the beaten path to name a few (currently looking forward to jogging in Cascais). His depth of knowledge is impressive and he was excited by my curiosity. I highly recommend Sintra, and I highly recommend Nuno specifically.
Response from the operator: Hello Samuel Thank you so much for this review and above all for the opportunity you gave me. I must say it’s a unique tour once my guests interact much and are happy with the end result. For me this was also a different experience from a everyday standard. My best Regards to all. Nuno

Two Wonderful Days with Sophia Tours
We spent two days with Nuno, one in Sintra and one in Belem/Cascais. He is a wonderful guide who has a deep knowledge and appreciation of the history of Portugal. He is very accommodating and flexible. I highly recommend him!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Jennifer Walsh . I am so glad you liked and precious is this review as the opportunity you gave me to show you this unique Atlantic territory and my hometown. Have a great 2023, all the best for the family. Best Regards

A Wonderful Day in Sintra
Nuno is a very knowledgeable and accommodating guide. If you want to get a good understanding of Sintra and its history Nuno is "your guy". His English is very good. Rather than have Nuno pick us up in Lisbon we took the train from Rossio station. This gave us more time with Nuno in Sintra to see a few more things. We had a very enjoyable day with Nuno.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this review and above all for the opportunity you gave me to show you around my hometown. My Best Regards. Nuno

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
SINTRA full day or Sintra and Cascais Tailor Made: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does SINTRA full day or Sintra and Cascais Tailor Made cost?
+
Prices start at $110 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does SINTRA full day or Sintra and Cascais Tailor Made take?
+
Plan for about 7.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is SINTRA full day or Sintra and Cascais Tailor Made worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule SINTRA full day or Sintra and Cascais Tailor Made?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is SINTRA full day or Sintra and Cascais Tailor Made suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book SINTRA full day or Sintra and Cascais Tailor Made?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 7.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does SINTRA full day or Sintra and Cascais Tailor Made start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
