    Bravo!! In Rome!!

Driver Valerie, was very professional and an amazing driver. He made our trip great and we covered a lot of ground!

Response from the operator: Hi there, thanks a lot for your review. See you next time

    AWFUL.

Incredibly rude owner, did not give us any information about where to meet and left without us but still charged us $360 for quite literally nothing. Poor communication and poor customer service. I am an avid trip advisor reviewer as well as customer and could not be more dissatisfied with their "services". If you refuse to give Information and leave without your tourees you should give a refund at the bare minimum. I wish I could leave 0 stars.

Response from the operator: We are sorry for your negative review. you booked a shared tour and the appointment was set for 08.45. our driver waited, together with the other customers, for 45 minutes and finally left for Rome at 09.30. We tried to call you several times on the cell phone you provided during the booking, but you were never reachable. (the Viator operator told us that the number you provided is that of your grandmother!!!) we sent you several messages via viator.com but you never replied. I don't think it's our fault if you don't know the meaning of punctuality. Furthermore, I don't think any refund is due since it was your fault that you didn't take the tour.

We were supposed to get an English-speaking guide and he didn’t speak a word of English. The guide was very nice, but we couldn’t communicate and I was totally misled by your company.

Response from the operator: Hi there, we are very sorry but your driver had a glue and at last time we had to change him. He could speak Spanish very well but less English. Best regards

    When in Rome!

The historical buildings were breathtaking! Stepping into history really changes your prospective of things. Max was our tour guide and he was incredible! He was extremely warm, attentive to the groups needs and we didn't have to wait on that 2hr line to get in. Max walked us right up to the front and we were in. It's hot by the Vatican there's no shade there so bring plenty of water, a hat, or an umbrella!

Response from the operator: Hi there, thanks a lot for your beautiful review. Max is one of the best driver we have. See you next time.

    Brilliant!

An easy pick up from our cruise ship. Our driver Filippo Puppi was also our guide for the day and we made a comfortable journey to Rome . Our tour started with a stop for a scenic view of the City. We then went on to do the highlights ie The Coliseum, The Vatican, The Trevi fountain etc. Filippo was informative and dropped us off within easy walking distance asking us how long we wanted at each stopping point. It didn't feel rushed and we were able to do it at our own pace. It is impossible to see everything in one day and my only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer but we will just have to come back and have a few days to take it all in. Will definitely be back!

Response from the operator: Thanks a lot. Hope to see you back soon in Rome.

Shore Excursion From Civitavecchia Port: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.

How much does Shore Excursion From Civitavecchia Port cost?

    +

Prices start at $189 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Shore Excursion From Civitavecchia Port take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.

Is Shore Excursion From Civitavecchia Port worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 43 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.6/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Shore Excursion From Civitavecchia Port?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Shore Excursion From Civitavecchia Port suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Shore Excursion From Civitavecchia Port?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Shore Excursion From Civitavecchia Port start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rome?

    +

Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rome?

    +

April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rome?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
