Best way to tour Rome

This is my 2nd tour with My Best Tour. Last year I went with my husband and I was so impressed that when my friend said she wanted to see Rome before our cruise I said this is the only way!! Lori was sooooo informative. Learned even more history than last year. Highly recommend it. Rome was 100* and traveling in a golf cart was terrific. Could see everything well and cool from the breeze. Thank you Lori for such a wonderful morning!!

Only way to see all of Rome in heatwave

Best way to see whatever you desire in Rome, with very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Very glad we did this rather than larger group tour. Could drive right up to sights and golf cart waits in same spot you were dropped off. With very hot weather conditions, this is the way to see the best sights without overheating abd dehydrating.

Pick a different golf cart tour company!

We have taken three golf cart tours in Rome over the last 4 years, and this was the first time we specifically had a local Roman tour guide driving our cart. Unfortunately, this tour fell very short compared to the other two tours we have taken during our recent visits. The good news is the golf cart itself was super, however, again fell short with no bottle of water for us upon arrival like the other 2 tours we have taken and it was extremely hot outside. The amount of knowledge and historical information shared was limited compared with the other tours, and the tour felt rushed even though we were set to finish 45 minutes early and asked what else we wanted to do. Our list did have a lot of items on it, however, the other 2 tours got through this same list easily in 4 hours and did a much better job with historic information and we did not feel rushed. For example, this was the first tour we have taken that did not include the folktale story of the she wolf with the two sons of Rome she raised, along with other important historical details that were omitted about Rome. I was especially disappointed because this was our friends first visit to Rome with us, and we had hoped they would have a more enjoyable, informative and historical experience. Overall we left feeling that the tour lacked the depth, historical context, and engagement that we have experienced previously on our Rome golf cart tours and I would give it a 1 out of 5 stars at most. I emailed the company 2x after our tour sharing our poor experience and never heard back from them. Very disappointing.

Response from the operator: Dear Tim and Susie, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback, and please accept our sincere apologies for the delayed response. August is a particularly busy holiday period in Italy, and we generally prefer to have the team member who handled the booking personally follow up with the guest. Unfortunately, this resulted in a longer response time than we would have liked. We take your comments seriously and are currently reviewing the tour with our guide to better understand what happened and evaluate the situation carefully. We have also reached out to you directly via email, as we would prefer to discuss this with you personally and work towards the best possible solution. We’re especially sorry that this experience fell short during your friends’ first visit to Rome. Your comments regarding the historical content, pace of the tour, and overall experience are important to us, and we will take them into consideration as part of our review. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We truly hope we can address your concerns and restore your confidence in My Best Tours. We will be waiting for your response via email. The Best Way to see Rome

The best idea ever for touring Rome especially in August! Mimo was so knowledgeable and accommodating. He knew the best places to get coffee and find bathrooms when needed. I would tour this way again in the future! We also had Laura show us the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. She was perfect!

Response from the operator: Dear Client, Thank you for such a fun review! August in Rome is definitely a good time to have a golf cart and we’re glad our guide Mimmo knew exactly where to stop for a great coffee and a much-needed bathroom break! We’re also happy to hear that our guide Laura made your Vatican and Sistine Chapel visit just as enjoyable. It sounds like you had a great team looking after you! Thank you for choosing us, and we hope your next visit to Rome includes another ride with us! Till then Ciao!

4-Hour Private Customizable Tour of Rome by Golf Cart: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.

How much does 4-Hour Private Customizable Tour of Rome by Golf Cart cost?

+

Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 4-Hour Private Customizable Tour of Rome by Golf Cart take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.

Is 4-Hour Private Customizable Tour of Rome by Golf Cart worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 253 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 4-Hour Private Customizable Tour of Rome by Golf Cart?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 4-Hour Private Customizable Tour of Rome by Golf Cart suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 4-Hour Private Customizable Tour of Rome by Golf Cart?

+

Around 89 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 4-Hour Private Customizable Tour of Rome by Golf Cart start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rome?

+

Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rome?

+

April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rome?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
