Boat tour - Sorrento to Positano and Amalfi
We booked a small-group boat tour from Sorrento and it was brilliant from start to finish. We were collected from our hotel and taken to the quayside to join a friendly group of just twelve — mostly couples plus one family. Our two guides were warm, welcoming, and full of great local knowledge about the coast. We stopped in Amalfi for 90 minutes to explore and grab a drink, then sailed on to Positano for an hour or so ashore — both towns are stunning and tricky to reach by road, so seeing them from the water was a real treat. On the way back we anchored at a sheltered cove for swimming and snorkelling (noodles provided, water beautifully clear), while the crew cooked us a lovely lunch of pasta, fruit, and drinks including Prosecco. The boat had comfy shaded seating, cushioned spots at the bow, and a sun deck up top. Out from about 8:30am to 5:00pm — a relaxed, brilliant day. Highly recommend!

Fantastic boat trip
Booked through TUI whilst on holiday in Sorrento with partner and friends. The trip was superb from start to finish, fantastic way to experience the Amalfi coast, stops at Amalfi and Positano gave plenty of time to get a feel for these iconic towns, a swim stop at one of the many stunning bays was included whilst Captain Toni and guide Vincent prepared a fresh authentic pasta lunch. Toni and Vincent’s enthusiasm and knowledge definitely made the trip one of the best. Would highly recommend

Boat to Amalfi&Positano with Swimming
I went on the boat yesterday with my daughter from Sorrento to Amalfi and Positano, with a wonderful swim stop. It was a fantastic day. The hosts Vince and Toni were fabulous and cooked beautiful pasta for us on the boat. They provided plenty of drinks and lots of fun. Vince gave us lots of information about the area. The views were spectacular. The water was so blue and my daughter loved jumping off the boat into the sea. It was a great way to sea Amalfi and Positano, both beautiful and slightly different. I definitely recommend going with Vince and Toni - it’s lots of fun! Thank you for a great day, you work so hard x

Go! It's a must
Amazing day out. Our favourite of the holiday. Captain Toni (and chef) and Vincent were our hosts for the day. Vincent gave the commentary regarding the history of the Amalfi coast, with a few fun facts thrown in. We swam in a beautiful bay, protected by a private island, and then went on to Amalfi. A lovely little town perched on the cliff, swarming with tourists and souvenir shops, but from the boat it was picture postcard perfect. Next stop.... just along the coast from Positano, where we could swim to a little beach, and then back to the boat for lunch, prepared and cooked by Toni, and delicious. We docked next in Positano, which again was so pretty from the boat, but with so many people everywhere, I asked if my daughter and I could stay on board and admire the town from there. Three other guests had opted to go fishing, so we had the best time sunbathing, and watching them catch an array of fish, which Toni selected, prepared, drizzled with olive oil and dressing, so we could experience the freshest sushi ever. Then a final swim in the beautiful crystal clear water. I honestly didn't want the day to end. It was heaven. Thank you to Toni and Vincent for a perfect day, and some more amazing memories ❤️

Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Shared Tour Positano and Amalfi From Sorrento with Lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Positano.
How much does Shared Tour Positano and Amalfi From Sorrento with Lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Positano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Shared Tour Positano and Amalfi From Sorrento with Lunch take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Positano is not rushed.
Is Shared Tour Positano and Amalfi From Sorrento with Lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Positano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Shared Tour Positano and Amalfi From Sorrento with Lunch?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Shared Tour Positano and Amalfi From Sorrento with Lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Shared Tour Positano and Amalfi From Sorrento with Lunch?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Positano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Positano and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Shared Tour Positano and Amalfi From Sorrento with Lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Positano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Positano?
+
On Outty we rank every Positano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cooking class with Pasta, mozzarella and Tiramisu with wine, Capri and Blue Grotto Semi Private Boat Day Trip from Sorrento, From Sorrento: Positano & Amalfi Coast Boat Tour with Pick Up. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Positano?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Positano?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
