About this experience

The City of Westminster is the royal and political heart of the United Kingdom, founded by the Anglo-Saxons on the ancient Isle of Thorney. The city is full of famous historical sites, but also streets and secret courts that time seems to have forgotten. This tour invites you to explore these two facets of this unmissable area. On the way we will see the Palace and Westminster Abbey, the most beautiful streets in the neighborhood, a church looking curious and inspired by the whims of a queen and even a gas lamp 200 years old! We will also talk about some great characters like Richard the Lionheart, Oliver Cromwell, a soldier whose life inspired a cult movie from the 60s, and a Parliament official with a rather strange role. Through this tour, the fascinating history of the City of Westminster will be unveiled in all its aspects.

🤩 A must-do!

Our morning tour booked with Maxime was a moment of pure happiness for my friends and me. Kindly and quite simply, he shared his knowledge and expertise with us, accompanied by images and amusing anecdotes. We were even able to watch the changing of the guard on the way. Quickly during the tour, he became like a brother, …a friend. Without hesitation, I recommend him, because we loved him 😍

An enriching afternoon with Maxime

We had an excellent time in the company of Maxime. He is a passionate guide and provides a lot of historical and anecdotal information. He accompanies his stories with documents to clearly show us what the city was like in another era. We appreciated that he was approachable and dynamic. The conversation was completely natural and he knew how to answer our many questions brilliantly.

Discover and rediscover London with Maxime

We have, this time again, for a Christmas week in London called on the talents of Maxime. We travelled between Westminster and its monarchical history and the famous Jack the Ripper of Whitechapel via the unusual London little known to tourists. Every walk has fascinated us and Maxime the storyteller has enchanted us, his knowledge and kindness have made this week a very beautiful week! Beatrice, Isabelle and Maryline

A multihat guide!

Max was able to adapt to our group, managed to captivate young and old each at their own pace! A demonstration of passion mixed with a feat of patience. All while adapting to the fickle weather! Thank you Max for this morning that we did not see pass! The Britons

Not to be missed!!!!

We spent an excellent morning with Maxime discovering the secrets of Westminster and we can only advise very very strongly to appeal to him as he will make you discover this part of London with passion and humor. Londoner by adoption for several years, he shares many anecdotes and delivers many tips for walks and good addresses. Without him we would have passed by small streets, beautiful houses, historical facts... It is certain that we will again survey London in his company!! Thanks again Maxime! Secrets of Westminster: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does Secrets of Westminster cost?

+

Prices start at $19 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Secrets of Westminster take?

+

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is Secrets of Westminster worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Secrets of Westminster?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Secrets of Westminster suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Secrets of Westminster?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Secrets of Westminster start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

+

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

+

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
