A great way to end the day

A peaceful two-hour sail was a great way to cap off the day. The sky was clear, the water calm, the sunset gorgeous, and Captain Tracy told a lot of fun stories about the area and its travels.

Response from the operator: Well said! The sunset sail is a great way to appreciate the Olympic peninsula, thanks for sharing your special day with Olympic Coast Sailing! Captain Tracy

    The very best time ever.

Bucket List (checked) this was the most amazing charter tour we have ever been on. Tracy was the best guide, so knowledgeable, It was so relaxing and beautiful. My sister and I just sit back and let the wind take us away. The sun was bright and the water was so calm. We would do this again a hundred times over. Our hats off to Tracy and his Ingrid Princess. The number one!!!

Response from the operator: Thank-you Kim!!! It was my honor to host your birthday adventure under sail, I enjoyed getting to know you and your family during an excellent afternoon of sailing. We can go again anytime you wish! Yours, Captain Tracy

    Joyful experience!!

We had no idea what a perfect sailing experience this would be, from Captain Tracey’s patient, kind and experienced nature, to all the sailing knowledge and lore one wants, or simply time to relax and enjoy.

Response from the operator: Thanks Tim and Stacey for going sailing with me as a part of your fun time on the Olympic peninsula! I appreciate your kind review and super pleased that you had a good time. Yours, Captain Tracy

    lighthouse sail experience

loved our experience on board! we spent the day with captain tracy, sailing to the light house and back. not only did we see sea lions and ehales, we also got to learn about the captain and take a shot at sailing ourselves. we couldn’t recommend the experience enough! make sure to check in with him for the time/tides for the day.

Response from the operator: Thanks Colin, for taking the time to give such a nice review! The Dungeness lighthouse is a magical place, we travelled there in style. You guys were super fun! Thanks much, Captain Tracy

    Sailing in the Straits

The experience was great- Tracy is a wealth of information about sailing, the area, the ocean etc and most importantly he’s super friendly and willing to share all his knowledge. The boat is beautiful and despite a calm day, the afternoon was fun as we searched for wind and whales. He allowed us to steer the boat, which we appreciated. We would definitely charter with Tracy again, perhaps on a trip to Victoria etc.

Response from the operator: I appreciate the kind words, and I'm so pleased you guys had a fun time out on the Ingrid Princess! Wind or no wind, it's always a unique experience to get away from land and enjoy the mystique of the sea. Come back and join me anytime for more adventure afloat! Captain Tracy

    Sailing Charter: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Port Angeles.

How much does Sailing Charter cost?

    +

Prices start at $240 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Port Angeles usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sailing Charter take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Port Angeles is not rushed.

    Is Sailing Charter worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Port Angeles, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sailing Charter?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sailing Charter suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sailing Charter?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Port Angeles can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Port Angeles and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sailing Charter start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Port Angeles within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Port Angeles?

    +

Port Angeles, WA packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Port Angeles by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Port Angeles experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Olympic National Park from Seattle: All-Inclusive Small-Group Day Tour, Hoh Rain Forest and Rialto Beach Guided Tour in Olympic National Park, Sol Duc, Lake Crescent, and Hurricane Ridge Guided Tour in Olympic National Park. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Port Angeles?

    +

Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Port Angeles, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Port Angeles?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
