The epitome of British pomp and military ceremony for which Britain is famous around the world. Elite soldiers from the military have been dutifully guarding the Monarch since 1660. The 7 regiments that guard the monarch, known as the 'Household Division', are so devoted to their duty that they will famously not acknowledge or allow themselves to be distracted by the public. During the ceremony, immaculately turned out guards are accompanied by marching bands playing a rousing mix of military music, whose origins dates back to the morale-boosting songs played before the British military went into battle.

Changing of the Guard not seen
Very misleading description. We did not see any changing of the guard nor a guard on a horse. All we saw was a dirt field about an 1/2 mile from Buckingham Palace and was told by the tour guide that “this is where it happens. But today is Saturday and there is no changing of the guard on Saturdays”. Then why is this tour offered on days there is no changing of guard? And, a lot of this tour is a walking tour, not coach. You will walk about an hour. Once again the description of tour is very misleading. I would not have booked this tour had I known it’s a coach and walking tour and especially if there’s no changing of the guard. I actually want a refund.

It would have been...
It would have been amazing, except it is not handicap accessible. The tour bus had to park well over a mile away and then you have to walk down several steps (at least 20) to get to the area to see the guards come down the street and turn toward the castle. That's as far as I was able to go. I did not get to see the changing of the guard because it was too far for me to go.
