Very rude driver, do not recommend

Initially met at port pickup by a very nice person named Connie who said we could arrange drop off and pickup in Rome with our driver who could speak English. Once inside the van the driver Sandro did not speak English and was very irate. He made numerous calls to one of his associates yelling in Italian that he was not getting paid enough to drive our group to our drop off points and that we should have paid more for the trip. My friend speaks Italian and fully understood his conversations. He made us feel very uncomfortable and stressed out. He yelled and honked at drivers all along the way. We paid for an informational tour in the way to Rome but received absolutely nothing. This was the worst excursion we have ever had. I do not recommend this tour company and will hopefully receive a refund.

Response from the operator: Dear Customer, We are very sorry to hear that you did not have a positive experience during your transfer to Rome. We sincerely regret that the service left you feeling uncomfortable and stressed, as this is certainly not the experience we want to provide to our guests. We would, however, like to clarify that your original booking was for a shared bus transfer to and from Rome, with English-speaking assistance and a designated stop in the city. On the day of your service, as the bus was not operating, we arranged an upgrade to a higher-category vehicle, allowing you to travel by minivan and offering you the possibility of making multiple stops in Rome instead of being limited to the originally scheduled stop. We are very sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with the driver. We take your comments seriously and are reviewing the circumstances of the service with our team. We also provide our guests with an emergency contact number that is available throughout the service, precisely so that we can be contacted immediately should any problem arise. Unfortunately, we did not receive any call or report from the group during the tour, so we were not aware that you were experiencing difficulties and therefore did not have the opportunity to intervene at the time. Nevertheless, we are genuinely sorry that the experience did not meet your expectations. We take your comments seriously and will review what happened with our team to ensure that the service we provide meets our usual standards.

    Wonderful tour

It’s was lovely. Tiziana was a wonderful guid. We got a good information about Romes history on the to Rome. Big recommendation from us. Not the last time we use oyo tours.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review! We're delighted that you enjoyed learning more about Rome during your journey and that you had such a positive experience with us. Knowing that you would choose OYO Tours again is the greatest compliment we could receive.

    Awful Experience

The scene at the meeting point was chaotic, at best. This company put all guests (English-speaking) traveling to Rome on a van with a driver, apparently not an employee of the company, who spoke no English. The driver was confused about where we were traveling, was unable to arrange a meeting point for the return, became loud and irate, and in the end of course offered nothing else other than the transportation. He also repeatedly tried to cut short the time we had in Rome. Never again.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to read about your experience. Unfortunately, your name does not appear in the review, so we are unable to identify your booking and investigate what happened. We are also surprised by your comments, as our team provides assistance throughout the day and we did not receive any report of this issue during the service. Had we been informed, we would have done our best to assist you immediately. We take all feedback seriously and remain committed to providing the best possible service to all of our guests.

    Great Transportation Experience

This is a great option for cruise passengers looking to visit Rome for the day! The bus stop is a few doors down from the train station and was an easier, cheaper more personal experience than taking the train.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re delighted to hear that our service provided an easy, affordable, and more personal way for you to enjoy a day in Rome. It’s wonderful to know that the convenience and comfort of our transfers made your visit enjoyable. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you again on your next trip to Rome! Warm regards, Giorgia – Cruising Rome

    Excellent door to door service

Oyo Tours informed us that there where issues with the buses so they had arranged for a minivan to transport us to Rome. We exchanged numbers with the driver, Enrico, who gave us a few options, he would drop us off wherever we wanted or if we wanted him to give us a tour. We opted for drop off as we already had booked sightseeing bus. He arranged a pickup at the Collosuem later in the afternoon and dropped us right outside the ship.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re glad to hear that the alternative arrangements worked smoothly and that you were able to get to Rome comfortably. It’s great that the service was flexible and convenient for your plans, allowing you to enjoy your sightseeing day with ease. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you on another tour in the future!

Rome On Your Own Full-Day Tour From Civitavecchia: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lake Bracciano.

How much does Rome On Your Own Full-Day Tour From Civitavecchia cost?

    +

Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lake Bracciano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rome On Your Own Full-Day Tour From Civitavecchia take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lake Bracciano is not rushed.

Is Rome On Your Own Full-Day Tour From Civitavecchia worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lake Bracciano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rome On Your Own Full-Day Tour From Civitavecchia?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rome On Your Own Full-Day Tour From Civitavecchia suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Rome On Your Own Full-Day Tour From Civitavecchia?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lake Bracciano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lake Bracciano and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rome On Your Own Full-Day Tour From Civitavecchia start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lake Bracciano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lake Bracciano?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lake Bracciano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Best of Rome Private Tour, Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia, VIP Tour of Rome (3/5/8hrs) Colosseum & Vatican Museums. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lake Bracciano?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lake Bracciano?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
