Avoid Anderson Tours excursion in Roatan.
We sign out our Sea Kayak & Blue Channel Reef Snorkeling tour with Caribbean Tourbase and we have been assigned with Anderson Tour as the tour provider. We were a group of 5 and we supposed to have kayak enough for 5, But they only had 1 double and 1 single kayak and 2 of us needed to use the paddle board, which was not we wanted. And our kayak/paddle board time we cut short to 1 hour instead of 2 as described in the Caribbean Tourbase description. Then for the snorkeling part, our snorkeling time was cut to 45 minutes instead of 1 hour and 30 minutes as described in the itinerary. Please try to avoid Caribbean Tour base and Anderson Tours. I tried to write a negative feedback for the tour in Caribbean Tourbase website but they were not publishing it. So don't trust their reviews. The feedback for the tour has only 3 reviews and all are 5 stars.
Response from the operator: Hi hope all is well I made an investigation to find out what happen and the guide explain you had to wait for 15 to 20 minutes he suggested you go snorkel first mean while waiting for the kayaks and you didn't wanted to wait that's why u took the pladle board and use a double kayak and second we didn't mention or promise 2 hour snorkel am truly sorry about what happened

Amazing beach day!
This was an amazing excursion for our cruise! Artmon was our driver and guide for the day and he took great care of us! He made sure we had plenty of time for all our activities and took us on an awesome tour of the island! He really made the experience a 10/10!! The beach was a great hangout spot, and the water was incredible. Kayaking and snorkeling was also amazing. William, our snorkeling guide, did a great job! We were a little apprehensive since this was our first time booking excursions through tripadvisor rather than through the cruise, but it was 100% worth it!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback it's very important to help us to keep providing the best service ever for our future guests thanks again for choosing us for your Roatan Excursion

Don't waste your money
We booked this trip through Anderson Tours. Compared to other excursions we did, it was totally overpriced. Our guide, Artman, was very nice and we thoroughly enjoy spending time with him. But the kayak wasn't comfortable and we didn't take a boat out to the reef. Instead, we swam out there from the beach. Even then, the main goal seemed to be selling us pictures rather than appreciating the beauty of the reef. By comparison, we also book the Hydrobikes & Snorkeling With Private Island At Your Leisure which was run by Mark Bodden. Peter, the guide for the Hydrobikes, took us around the French Keys, Fantasy Island, and Brady's Cay. It was obvious that Peter loved the island and the reef. It was a bit of exercise but it was refreshing at the same time. When we returnws, Jordan captained the boat and Eli lead the snorkeling tour. The boat brought us to a beautiful part of the reef and Eli guided us. At one point, he saw some trash on the floor of the ocean and dove down to retrieve it. Whereas the guide for Anderson's seemed primarily interested in selling us pictures, Eli was interested in communicating his love of the reef. My girlfriend, who has snorkeled many, many times was so impressed with everything that she was close to tears. And here's the kicker. The Anderson's tour cost MOST than the Hydrobikes & Snorkeling. It was a waste of money. Also, the description on Viator said something about tasting rum and chocolate. That never happened.
Response from the operator: Sorry for all the mix up

Beautiful reefs and beach
The reefs were absolutely gorgeous and the guides were very helpful and friendly! Can’t wait to come back and do a tour with them again.

Roatan and the scenic tour
Unfortunately the weather was not conducive to kayak as the water was too ruff and there was too much wind. Our tour guide from Roatan Anderson Tours, Mr. Jamie Lisandro Ruiz (pronounced Hi mee) advised us that we would not have a good time kayaking and took us around the island. It was a wonderful experience. He drove us to the Rum Factory, the shopping areas, through some residential areas for a cultural experience and we stopped at looking at the sloth's and monkeys. Lunch was provided and we had an authentically cooked red snapper fish. Jamie did a great job and I would highly recommend others to seek him out for his experiences.

How long does Roatan Sea Kayak, Snorkel and Swim take?

Is Roatan Sea Kayak, Snorkel and Swim worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Roatan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Roatan can sell out a month out. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Roatan?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Roatan?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
