Great value and trails were fantastic
Lovely trails and wonderful staff. The bike hire experience was wonderful and the staff advice and guidance was superb.
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for the kind words! We’re glad you enjoyed the trails and had a great experience with our team. Hope to see you out riding again soon!

Fantastic experience
The staff were fantastic. My son came off his bike and buckled his back wheel and they were in the middle of nowhere. They organised a replacement bike immediately for him and even picked them up and brought them back to the shop after they had had enough. The first thing they asked was 'is he ok'. They didn't care about the bike, just him which was so nice to hear. Would def recommend this company and use them again and again.
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for the lovely review! We’re really glad your son was okay, and we’re happy the team could help quickly and get everyone safely back. We always want our riders looked after first and foremost. Thanks again for the recommendation -we’d love to see you all again sometime!

Great family trip and really helpful and sensible team
We had intended to do the full 32km ride but were gently encouraged at check-in to consider one of the shorter less challenging rides. Our son hadn't ridden for a while and as soon as he got on the bike we realised the longer ride would not be possible. The team were super flexible and gave us options and advice. We opted for the shorter route and they picked us up at the agreed spot. My only quibble was that the gears on the bike my son had were too stuff for him to turn them down (he's 6 years old). So we had to stop every time there was a hill and mostly had to walk up the hills, which made for a much longer ride than we'd planned! All in all a good day though.

Bad reaction when I challenged a charge.
I think I can count on one hand the number of adverse reviews I've posted. This will be one of them. You know how you feel when one of those budget airlines stings you extra when they get the chance. That was my experience. And the owner, to whom I asked to speak about it so he knew exactly where I was coming from, had zero interest in doing anything other than defending his charge and making me feel like I was quibbling. The bottom line is that I hired a great bike and had a good ride on a wonderful trail to Arrowtown. Realising I would likely be late back to Q'town to return the bike if I rode, I planned to jump onto a local bus. Unfortunately, it arrived late into Arrowtown and then got a flat tire. (First ever public bus I've been on that has had flat!). After a couple of calls back and forth to their office to let them know what was going on I was offered their bus pickup. Sounds fairly good to this point. But it's from here that they need to rethink how they handle a situation like this. After I deplaned from the broken public bus, so to speak, I got another call telling me they would charge me full price for their pickup. A short while later, when I called to check on where their bus pickup was (it too was running late), I let them know I thought the charge wasn't a fair thing to do in the circumstances. Then we go south even more. According to the owner, it was more than fair given almost the same amount would be charged as a late fee if I wasn't back by the deadline time. Where was this fee explained I asked? In the terms and conditions link if I cared to press it when I checked the bike out, apparently. Really! Who reads these things. Well, our conversation went downhill from here to the point where I was quite shocked with how little they seemed to care. Clearly they have a successful business. They have mostly good reviews but a couple of negative ones - and another that had their own challenging experience with owner. You will probably be 100% ok to use these guys, but if it's just a simple bike hire and not one of the packaged bike tours they offer, then be aware there are other good options in Q'town at similar price points.
Response from the operator: Hi Kim L, you booked a bike hire with us for a set fee. When a bike hire upgrades by adding a shuttle there is always an additional fee for the shuttle - no hidden costs. You were advised by our shop staff before you began your ride that if you wanted to book a shuttle it would be possible and there would be an additional fee. You opted to take a public bus - your experience with that was outside of our control. When you did call to request our shuttle it was again re-iterated by our shop team that you would need to come in to our shop to pay the additional shuttle fee. Your abuse toward our shop staff upon your return was completely unacceptable and we did our best to de-escalate your aggression.

Great day with amazing views
Brilliant day with incredible views and some challenging but fun riding. Guides were friendly and knowledgable and bikes were in good condition. Despite a few moments of wishing I had chosen an E-bike on some of the larger hills, overall I am glad I chose to challenge myself as it was very satisfying when I got back to QT.

Ride Queenstown’s Stunning Trails on a Mountain Bike: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Queenstown.
How much does Ride Queenstown’s Stunning Trails on a Mountain Bike cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Queenstown usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Ride Queenstown’s Stunning Trails on a Mountain Bike take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Queenstown is not rushed.
Is Ride Queenstown’s Stunning Trails on a Mountain Bike worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Queenstown, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Ride Queenstown’s Stunning Trails on a Mountain Bike?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Ride Queenstown’s Stunning Trails on a Mountain Bike suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Ride Queenstown’s Stunning Trails on a Mountain Bike?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Queenstown can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Queenstown and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Ride Queenstown’s Stunning Trails on a Mountain Bike start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Queenstown within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Queenstown?
+
On Outty we rank every Queenstown experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Milford Sound Small Group Tour & Cruise from Queenstown, Milford Sound Premium Small Group Tour & Cruise from Queenstown, Award Winning Premium Wine Tour Queenstown Tasting at 4 Wineries. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Queenstown?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Queenstown?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
