What you get

    About this experience

Clear Creek is one of the best whitewater rafting rivers in Colorado, and for great reasons. The canyon offers all levels of whitewater challenge, and easy access. The setting includes scenic flats, mining ruins, wildlife, and, of course, exciting whitewater flowing over rocks. Nearby is Idaho Springs, where the gold rush began. One of the first cities founded in Colorado, in 1859, this quaint town is nestled in the foothills of some of Colorado’s best mountains and holds a unique place in the state’s history. As the place where the Colorado Gold Rush started, this little town holds a lot of secrets, including one of the best river rafting areas in the State! Conveniently located about 30 minutes West of Denver, and close to Breckenridge, Silverthorne, Dillon, and Winter Park, Clear Creek has rafting trip options for varying ability and experience levels.

    Awesome experience

This was my family’s 1st experience with rafting. We did the beginner course. Kevin was our guide and did phenomenal. We would all highly recommend Kevin and Colorado Rafting Company. Kevin was well experienced, had patience with us not so experienced folks. He shared his knowledge of the area and even had jokes😂. If you have the opportunity to go rafting, do it!

Response from the operator: Thanks for the glowing review! This is a great starter run - exciting but not too scary. Glad you all had fun!

    Cool Clear Creek Ride

We had an amazing trip down Clear Creek with Brandi as our guide. One of the best experiences we’ve had rafting. Weather was great and the water just chilly enough to help make the experience! Take this trip with Brandi as your guide!

Response from the operator: Great to know we surpassed your expectations! We hope you'll be back next year, maybe on the Blue River just outside of Silverthorne? It's another fiesty forested river.

    A perfect day of rafting

We had a great time, they supply everything you need. It's not difficult but enough rapids to have fun and Brandi was the perfect guide!

Response from the operator: Clear Creek offers a beginner and intermediate run, both of which are splashy and challenge enough for most people. Glad you had fun!

    Awesome!

We had such an incredible experience with CRC! They were so well organized, from getting everyone equipped and ready to go, to seamless drop-offs and pick-ups, and safety scouts along the way. This was our first time rafting, and I was a bit nervous bringing our two kids along, but Kyle was an amazing guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable and calm, and prepped us for upcoming rapids. Thank you so much, Kyle, Brandy, & CRC!

Response from the operator: You're so welcome! Thanks for letting us know that it went so well. Our guides love this river and their guests! Thanks for choosing us.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Idaho Springs.

How much does Raft the Gold Nugget Whitewater Challenge on Clear Creek: Ages 6+ cost?

    +

Prices start at $95 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Idaho Springs usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Raft the Gold Nugget Whitewater Challenge on Clear Creek: Ages 6+ take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Idaho Springs is not rushed.

Is Raft the Gold Nugget Whitewater Challenge on Clear Creek: Ages 6+ worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Idaho Springs, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Raft the Gold Nugget Whitewater Challenge on Clear Creek: Ages 6+?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Raft the Gold Nugget Whitewater Challenge on Clear Creek: Ages 6+ suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Raft the Gold Nugget Whitewater Challenge on Clear Creek: Ages 6+?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Idaho Springs can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Idaho Springs and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Idaho Springs?

    +

On Outty we rank every Idaho Springs experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Beginner Whitewater Rafting on Historic Clear Creek, Clear Creek Intermediate Whitewater Rafting near Denver, Clear Creek Classic 2h 30m Rafting Trip - Idaho Springs, CO. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Idaho Springs?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Idaho Springs?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
