What you get

    About this experience

Clear Creek is one of the best whitewater rafting rivers in Colorado, and for great reasons. The canyon offers all levels of whitewater challenge, and easy access. The setting includes scenic flats, mining ruins, wildlife, and, of course, exciting whitewater flowing over rocks. This trip is your chance to participate in an unusually challenging raft trip close to Denver, Breckenridge, Silverthorne, Dillon, and Winter Park. Canyon scenery is dramatic, and adrenaline will be high! Nearby is Idaho Springs, where the gold rush began. Founded in 1859, this quaint town is nestled in the foothills of some of Colorado’s best mountains and holds a unique place in the state’s history. As the place where the Colorado Gold Rush started, this little town holds a lot of secrets, including one of the best river rafting areas in the state! The season for advanced rafting on Clear Creek is normally June and July, but is dependent on water flows.

    All good.

Due to low snow melt and drought, river flows are low. The company moved us to the Colorado River which was perfect. We had the beginers tour which was perfect as we had a 5 year old and 4 people over 70. Our guide Tanner was special and we had a great time.

Response from the operator: Glad to know you had a wonderful time rafting with us on the Upper Colorado River. Our guides, like Tanner, love the area and showing it to guests of all ages. Thanks for joining us!

CRC gave a great family experience!

Colorado Rafting Company nailed it. We had a medium-sized group of 10 with family and friends including a few kids and the guides really did a great job of ensuring everyone was comfortable and had fun. Although the creek was low due to light rain season, we had a great time. Our guide, Connor, was excellent! He is very experienced and quite funny. He gave us some history and facts along the river but cracked some pretty decent Dad-jokes along the way. We will definitely be back.

Response from the operator: Thanks for coming out with us on Clear Creek. Connor is such an experienced guide; we're lucky to have him. Glad you all had fun and felt safe and comfortable while taking on this splashy challenge! Mention you're returning paddlers when you come back. Thanks.

    Great team experience.

Great experience with this company- they were super available and flexible when trying to get a large group of uncommitted softball players together. Ended with a smaller group in the end, and just two rafts. Low water levels unfortunately, but that is nature faults, and the guides still made it a super great experience. Teenagers on a raft together, adults on another- and all had a great time.

Response from the operator: Perfect way to divide and conquer - a kid boat and an adult boat! Glad you rafted with us, and we hope to see you again next year. Best of luck with upcoming softball tournaments!

A MUST DO WHEN IN COLORADO

What a fun day! We had such a great day on the water. When in Colorado - it is a must do. The team was professional and fun, which really made the trip even more enjoyable. Great rapids for all ages. I can't wait to try it in the spring when the water is running faster. And the water... while cold is was very refreshing! Sitting in the front you get the full experience of just how "refreshing" :-). Thank you to the team there.

Response from the operator: Ha, ha, well, the guides can arrange a splashier experience for guests especially when it's hot outside. This trip is our favorite way to see the beauty of Colorado's mountains and rural ranching life. Escape the luxury resort towns and join us there. Glad you really enjoyed it! Thanks for the review.

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Idaho Springs?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
