A little disorganized
The reason this isn't 5* is the zip line crew didn't handle the flow of people through the platforms very well. Groups were clumped together in the middle of the zip line course and people from the tail of the group jumped the line and moved to the front.
Response from the operator: We're really grateful and appreciate you taking the time to share your rating with us. We will pass your comment to our supplier

Great tour - great tour organizer
Zipling was great but the company that picked us up and coordinated this adventure was so very well organized, on time and professional - next time in Costa Rica (Puntarenas Zipline Canopy & Crocodile Boat Tour), we will use them again

Zip line was fun,...
Zip line was fun, tourguides very nice, friendly and helpful. 10 lines 200 to 400m long, two connecting hanging bridges. A little detour courtesy tour guide and driver got us to see a macaw family sitting high in the tree and scream back at us for disturbing their peace 😄. The boat tour is in the mouth of a river, almost no current, brackish muddy water and boat moves by outboard motor. Area access limited by tide height. Covered maybe 2mi roundtrip. Saw some crocs, old and young, a few birds and beautiful vegetation. Quite funny narration by boat guide. But too much waiting between activities incl a unnecessary 40min stop at a souveniershop with option to get sth to eat in restaurant, just 20 mi away from port. Coming of a cruiseship food already well covered and this tour was aimed at cruisers only. While the wait after zipline would have been great opportunity for another round, we did not know that it would have been enough time, so was never an option or offered. Overall this is more a 3.5 hr tour rather than the advertised 5+ hrs, and we returned to port after ca 7 hrs! FYI : NCL docks in the commercial caldera port. You are not allowed to walk from pier to entrance (ca 400m, 1/4mi)!. The tour operator does know which of the two puntarenas ports you will arrive if you provide ship info, but they don't have license to drive into he port, so you are at the mercy of a shuttle that was provided by NCL, but timing and logistics, execution was a NCL disaster
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review of our tour.

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Puntarenas Zipline & River Boat Tour. Puntarenas Shore Excursion: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puntarenas.
How much does Puntarenas Zipline & River Boat Tour. Puntarenas Shore Excursion cost?
+
Prices start at $185 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puntarenas usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Puntarenas Zipline & River Boat Tour. Puntarenas Shore Excursion take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puntarenas is not rushed.
Is Puntarenas Zipline & River Boat Tour. Puntarenas Shore Excursion worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puntarenas, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Puntarenas Zipline & River Boat Tour. Puntarenas Shore Excursion?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Puntarenas Zipline & River Boat Tour. Puntarenas Shore Excursion suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Puntarenas Zipline & River Boat Tour. Puntarenas Shore Excursion?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puntarenas can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puntarenas and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Puntarenas Zipline & River Boat Tour. Puntarenas Shore Excursion start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puntarenas within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Puntarenas?
+
On Outty we rank every Puntarenas experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tortuga Island Tour with Costa Cat, Small Group Night Walking Tour in Monteverde, Half day surf and adventure in Montezuma. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Puntarenas?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Puntarenas?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
