Cancelled one day before
I've got a notice of cancellation one day before the tour. I haven't got the refund after one month.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, We can't see your name in this review, but we're sorry to hear about the frustrating wait for your refund. Since we can't identify your booking, we can only assume: this Public Tour to Hallstatt likely did not reach the minimum number of participants required to operate, which is why it had to be cancelled — this is stated in the tour terms and applies to all public group tours, not something specific to your booking. Regarding the refund: when a booking is cancelled, Viator normally processes the refund automatically. We are not the ones handling the payment here. If we received the cancellation notice, we approved the refund request on our end without delay. However, the actual processing and payout of refunds for Viator bookings is handled directly by Viator, not by us as the tour operator. We'd recommend following up with Viator customer support directly with your booking reference, as they can check the exact status of the payout. We're sorry this added extra stress on top of an already disappointing cancellation, and we're happy to help confirm anything on our end for the platform. That said, we don't think a one-star rating for the tour itself is fair here. We cancelled because the minimum number of participants — clearly stated in the terms for this public tour — wasn't reached, not by choice, but because running a full-day tour at the public group rate isn't something we can't offer for for less than 5 participants. That's a standard condition of public tours, not something decided against you personally, and it doesn't reflect the quality of the experience we provide. Bobstours Team

Private tour Hallstatt
Bobs special tours - booked a day trip to Hallstatt from Salzburg. We met our guide ‘Elvis’ who became our best friend for the day. A lovely human who drove us to Hallstatt, explained the history of the area and left us with plenty of time to tour on our own. When we asked him to pick us up later then planned it was not an issue. Our day was enjoyable, Hallstatt is a wonderful small boutique village with so much natural beauty - I am glad we visited in winter when the crowds were low. The day was made special by the wonderful service from Elvis and Bobs special tour. Thank you Elvis!

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Public 6 hour tour to Hallstatt from Salzburg: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Salzburg.
How much does Public 6 hour tour to Hallstatt from Salzburg cost?
+
Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Salzburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Public 6 hour tour to Hallstatt from Salzburg take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Salzburg is not rushed.
Is Public 6 hour tour to Hallstatt from Salzburg worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Salzburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Public 6 hour tour to Hallstatt from Salzburg?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Public 6 hour tour to Hallstatt from Salzburg suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Public 6 hour tour to Hallstatt from Salzburg?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Salzburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Salzburg and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Public 6 hour tour to Hallstatt from Salzburg start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Salzburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Salzburg?
+
On Outty we rank every Salzburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Austrian Apple Strudel Cooking Class including Lunch in Salzburg, Salzburg: Palace Concert at the Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace, Salzburg Oldtown: Sightseeing Walking Tour with Licensed Local Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Salzburg?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Salzburg?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
