This tour is a walking tour and an introduction to Salzburg by a local licensed tour guide. It is the ideal way to get to know the city of Salzburg and its main attractions. During the one-and-a-half-hour walk, you get a basic understanding of the history and the sights of Salzburg, answers to your questions and personal recommendations, and suggestions for sightseeing and activities. You will also receive a printed map of the city with an overview of the sights, but also recommendations for food and drink and information about day trips, so you can better find your way around the city on your own after the tour. Each of our tour guides has attended one and a half years of training, passed a three-day exam and has years of experience as a guide in Salzburg.

Mozart Residence (Mozart Wohnhaus)
The house where Mozart lived from the age of seventeen. We are going to see the house and talk about it from the opposite side of the square. Here we will also find out why Salzburg is known as the "Rome of the North".

Erzabtei Stift St. Peter Salzburg
Saint Peter's is the place where Salzburg was founded in 696 and the oldest monastery in the German-speaking region. We are not entering the church or the beautiful cemetery of Saint Peter's Abbey because the monastery and the church is still active and guided tours are not allowed but we visit the yard of the monastery and I will tell you everything about I know about it.

We meet at the "Spirit of Mozart" artwork by Marina Abramovic. The Spirit of Mozart is a 15-meter high metal chair together with 8 normal-sized chairs. It's part of the walk of modern art by the Salzburg foundation and located next to Staatsbrücke, the main bridge in the old town.

A great tour with the wonderful Sonja.
We did the walking tour with Sonja, who was a an absolute wonderful guide. She was friendly, open, enthusiastic about Salzburg and very, very knowledgeable.
