Escape to the Mountains by van.
The hike to all the viewing points could be considered strenuous for some. The views were breathtaking and worth the hike. Hallstatt is a quaint village and visiting the bones at the church is a must. Shiva our guide was great. Riding in a 8 passenger van rather than a bus is the way to go.

The fabulous Hallstatt and five fingers
Shiva our driver was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and obliging. So as much as Shiva was great and would highly recommend him, the trip was simply breathtaking. We have traveled on this trip through a few countries and loved every second, but this tour was by far our favourite.

Fog above and fairy tail village underneath.
Our way to Hallstatt through lakes and villages had been perfect. But we got unlucky with milky clouds on top of the 5 Fingers. My advice is to prepare to pivot and stay down on the lake if you see the milk above. Hallstatt itself was croudy but wonderful. We bought a special pastry, brought to Salzburg and had a special dinner.
