One of my favorite things!
Every moment of the tour was top-notch! Our guide, Nadja, was wonderful. Her knowledge of The Sound of Music movie AND the original family was excellent. She explained things so well, had an easy, friendly manner and gave us plenty of time at each stop to view the area. I highly recommend this tour to others who love this story and want to learn more about it and experience the places where it was filmed up close and personal.

Weather is critical
Our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable about Sound of Music, both the movie version and reality of Trapp family. The only thing was the weather, which was beyond their control. If it’s predicted to rain during the tour, rebooking to a sunny day would be best.

Great sound of music tour
Nadia was a fantastic guide. This was a small group of 8. Learned so much about the movie and the actual family's real story. And the beautiful ride through the countryside was a bonus! Fun way to spend a morning in Vienna

Excellent tour with photos for reference of location.
This was a small group of 8 people so we rode in a van. Guide was informative and used a microphone so all could hear. We went to several filming location during the four hour tour. More than I expected. Our guide had photos of the scenes of where the locations were in the movie. I really like having a photo to jog my memory. I noticed other tour groups near us didn’t have a reference like we did. The stop in the little village of Mondse where the wedding is filmed at was just a charming town. If we return to Austria we would stay here. The church was magnificent. The Austrian country side is beautiful so sit by a window when driving on the highway. The cons were and this is minor is we really didn’t need to be at the office 30 min prior as we just sat and had to wait. I could see coming 15 min early. We did leave on time . One thing that was a bit of a surprise was we didn’t return to the office after the tour. We were left at the last spot which was MIrabella Gardens. It was only a 10 minute walk back to our hotel but we didn’t know how close we were at the time. It would have been nice if the business would have noted that before the tour. They could have mentioned this while we waited in the office or sent notification in advance.

Good
I was very disappointed we couldn’t stop at the VonTrapp Home, we weren’t informed it was coming up and unfortunately lost the opportunity for even a picture. I think if we could have parked the vehicle and walked past the house would have been a great highlight. Otherwise thank you.

+
Around 136 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Salzburg?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Salzburg?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
