About this experience

Just 60 minutes from Central London into the wow-wonderland of Windsor-on-Thames. The King of England has made it his new home…and yes, it’s worth all the fuss. We stop at Runnymede Field where King John signed the Magna Carta in 1215, the big daddy of constitutions worldwide. A self-guided walking tour, followed by a caffeine fix at an atmospheric English cafe, and jaw-dropping moments at the official residence of His Majesty. There’s still St. George’s Chapel, tombs of many English Kings and Queens, including the late Queen Elizabeth II, and the venue of the celeb-wedding of Harry and Meghan. A lunch table at a relaxing riverside restaurant or maybe you prefer a traditional afternoon tearoom in the village? Free time to visit Eton College, where 13 British Prime Ministers and Princes William and Harry studied, enjoy some shop browsing, or stroll along the River Thames. Important: Purchase your Windsor tickets 1 hour after the start time of the tour.

Make sure you consider your options to get to Windsor

You might consider booking an uber or a taxi...this was simply a transfer from London to Windsor - with very little extra. Alternatively, ensure that you clearly discuss and understand the value witht he provider (other than the car ride).

Lovely day!

Andrew was excellent! He provided welcome commentary on London on our way out of town- especially regarding points/stores of interest for us. Eton was lovely and Windsor was spectacular. The stop at Runnymede was enjoyable for our history buffs- lovely park. A most enjoyable day!

Response from the operator: Thanks Kyle, especially as Andrew and the rest of the team here really enjoy showcasing Windsor for our guests.

Great fun and very thoughtful guide!

Driver and tour guide was very personable and very entertaining. Made the tour! We had lots of fun because the guide always such a charming and friendly person.

Response from the operator: We fully appreciate your generous feedback Steve, thank you. Our hosts do certainly enjoy engaging with guests in the way you have described.

Not worth the money!

I wouldn’t spend the money for this tour. All it got us was a private ride to Windsor. For $600. Dean our driver was nice and informative, however we were dropped off and didn’t see him until the end of the day. And we had to buy the Windsor entry ticket separate and just listened to audio guide. Just take a taxi and buy an entry ticket. You will save about $500 per couple.😕

Response from the operator: We are so desperately sorry that this experience did not work out for you on this occasion, Matt. Despite the fact that we have over 1,000 5-star reviews, there have been occasions when we have just got things wrong. The original guide assigned to you became unavailable in the days leading up to your tour, but instead of cancelling your long anticipated day at Windsor, we took the decision not to cancel, in good faith. Please contact our admin team contact@blackcabheritagetours.co.uk so that we can start the process your part refund. Once again, we sincerely apologise for this unfortunate occurrence, and have taken all necessary procedures so that this does not happen again. Do please get in touch so that we can resolve a suitable outcome for you guys.

Private Windsor Roundtrip Transfer from London: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does Private Windsor Roundtrip Transfer from London cost?

+

Prices start at $559 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Windsor Roundtrip Transfer from London take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is Private Windsor Roundtrip Transfer from London worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Windsor Roundtrip Transfer from London?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Windsor Roundtrip Transfer from London suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Windsor Roundtrip Transfer from London?

+

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Windsor Roundtrip Transfer from London start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

+

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

+

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
