Fantastic Food Tour by Secret Food Tours Zurich. Ioanna is a wonderful tour guide!

My wife and I were just in Zurich, August 2026. We scheduled a three-hour food tour with Secret Food Tours. It was a walking tour of Zurich's old town, called Altstadt. Our hotel, The Widder, was located in that part of the city to this tour was perfect for us. Our Tour Guide was Ioanna Tsilianou. She was incredible. Ioanna is the epitome of an enthusiastic, professional, knowledgeable and friendly guide. She met us at the hotel lobby, and we were immediately at ease with her. Our first stop was at Cafe Felix. A delightful two-level restaurant that had that old school Zurich vibe to it. Ioanna is so knowledgeable of local culture and history and gave us some fun background on the place. We had a traditional Swiss breakfast dish that reminded us of yogurt and granola. Delicious! Along with, of course, some hot chocolate. We then walked to a local shop that sold sausages and other goodies. We were treated to a sausage sandwich with sauerkraut. Very savory. And what great was how everyone in the shops and restaurants and even on the streets knew Ioanna. She knows the turf and the people and culture very well. This is even more interesting as Ioanna is originally from Greece. Throughout the day we were treated to stops at various shops and restaurants to sample delicious cheeses, sandwiches, quiches, local gins, wine, traditional Rosti and the ending was a stop at a gelato shop. We had some of the creamiest gelato we have ever tasted! What made the tour, besides the food stops, the historic sites that Ioanna took us to, was Ioanna herself. What a great representative of Secret Food Tours. If we ever went back to Zurich and took this tour again, which we would, we would definitely ask for Ioanna. We highly recommend Secret Food Tours Zurich and Ioanna as a tour guide. She helped make our last day in Zurich exceptional!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zurich.

How much does Private Walking Food Tour in Zurich with 10+ Food Tastings cost?

    +

Prices start at $317 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zurich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Walking Food Tour in Zurich with 10+ Food Tastings take?

Is Private Walking Food Tour in Zurich with 10+ Food Tastings worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zurich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Walking Food Tour in Zurich with 10+ Food Tastings?

Is Private Walking Food Tour in Zurich with 10+ Food Tastings suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Walking Food Tour in Zurich with 10+ Food Tastings?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zurich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zurich and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Walking Food Tour in Zurich with 10+ Food Tastings start and how do I get there?

    +

What are the best things to do in Zurich?

    +

On Outty we rank every Zurich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Zurich Food Tour with 10 Local Delicacies, Cheeses & Chocolates, Private, excellent guided tour of Zurich (from CHF 21/pers.), Zurich Historic District Guided 2-Hour Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Zurich?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Zurich?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
