Terrible!
Do not book this tour! We were very disappointed in this tour. It states that we would be picked up at the Zurich airport and have 2 stops on the drive to Basel. We would have a personal tour guide. We did get picked up at the airport. When we asked about the 2 stops the driver said he isn't a tour guide just a driver and there is nothing to see in either town. He just drove us to our hotel in Basel. In addition in the tour description it says there would be waters included. No waters - driver offered his bottle for our group. Worst Viator Tour we have ever taken!
Response from the operator: Dear Steve, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that this product is primarily a private transfer from Zurich to Basel with optional sightseeing stops along the way. The sightseeing locations are intended as an added experience during the transfer rather than the main purpose of the service. As clearly stated in the product description, the service is operated by an experienced local English-speaking driver. While the driver is happy to share local knowledge and recommendations, he is not a licensed tour guide, and the product is not advertised as a fully guided walking tour. According to the information provided by our driver, the sightseeing stops included in the itinerary were available during the journey. However, after your flight, your group preferred to continue directly to the hotel rather than spend additional time at the remaining stops. We fully respect such decisions and always adapt the journey to our guests' wishes and comfort. For this reason, part of the planned itinerary was not completed at your request, rather than being omitted by the driver. We would also encourage all travelers to carefully review the product description before booking, as it clearly explains the nature of the service, the role of the driver, and what is included in the experience. We have also noted your comments regarding the bottled water and will review this matter with our local partner. Thank you for sharing your experience. Kind regards, Europe Journey Team

Cramped airport pick- up and "tour."
They said 4 or more people would be in a family MVP. Multi- purpose vehicle for comfort in mind. We were picked up in a BMW, 3 adults in the back seat and 1 in the front with our carry on bags on our laps. The first stop was at a monastery, we were dropped off only to find out it was closed to the public, under construction. Our second stop was for coffee and then we stopped at a small old Church. $650 for 4 people, definitely not worth it. Someone was supposed to get back to me by Friday. No response and they have ignored me when I wrote them I'm very dissatisfied, I have used Viator before with good results.
Response from the operator: Dear Lynne, We are truly sorry for the experience you described. The driver was instructed to use a Mercedes Van, and we had every reason to believe this would be the vehicle provided. Unfortunately, he used a different car without notifying us in advance, which is a serious breach of our internal policy. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and fully understand your disappointment. We have already initiated an internal review and will take appropriate action to prevent this from happening again. Regarding your sightseeing stops — we will verify all details with the driver to understand why the monastery was not accessible and ensure accurate information is provided to future guests. Our support team is available over the weekend for urgent matters, but some decisions require management review during business days. Please rest assured this case will be resolved promptly. We truly value your feedback — it helps us improve. Kind regards, Europe Journey Team

Excellent driver, great car
Pascal was fantastic – cordial, cheerful, and very professional. He made interesting stops along the way, explained what we could see, and was flexible with our timing. He also handled our luggage with care. His Tesla Model Y was spotless, comfortable, and spacious. We highly recommend Pascal for an excellent travel experience!
Response from the operator: Hi, Katrin. Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We’re delighted to hear that Pascal made your journey so enjoyable with his professionalism, flexibility, and thoughtful service. We’re also glad you found the Tesla so comfortable. Your recommendation means a lot, and we look forward to welcoming you again on your next trip!

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private transfer from Zurich to Basel, with sightseeing stops: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zurich.
How much does Private transfer from Zurich to Basel, with sightseeing stops cost?
+
Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zurich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private transfer from Zurich to Basel, with sightseeing stops take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zurich is not rushed.
Is Private transfer from Zurich to Basel, with sightseeing stops worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zurich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private transfer from Zurich to Basel, with sightseeing stops?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private transfer from Zurich to Basel, with sightseeing stops suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private transfer from Zurich to Basel, with sightseeing stops?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zurich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zurich and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private transfer from Zurich to Basel, with sightseeing stops start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zurich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Zurich?
+
On Outty we rank every Zurich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Zurich Food Tour with 10 Local Delicacies, Cheeses & Chocolates, Private, excellent guided tour of Zurich (from CHF 21/pers.), Zürich Historic District Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Zurich?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Zurich?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
