Best Day of Our Three Week Vacation

We were lucky enough to score Company Owner Fernando Sierra as our guide to Appenzell and Liechtenstein. It was a magical day! We started tasting cheese at a cheese museum and factory. Watching the cheese being made was fascinating. Then off to Appenzell for a walk through this quaint Swiss village. Fernando seemed to know all the local shop owners! Every now and again Fernando would pull off the road for an amazing photo stop at a beautiful lake or snow capped mountain. He knows his stuff. Lunch in Hoher Kasten was at the top of a mountain accessible only by funicular. The ride is worth the 40 franc pp charge. The rotating restaurant is casually elegant. The food delicious. And you can actually see six different countries as the restaurant rotates! After lunch, it was off to Liechtenstein for a wine tasting at a winery owned by the Prince of Liechtenstein. What a treat! To get to Liechtenstein, we literally had to take a right turn at Austria. We mugged for photos at the Prince’s castle before the wonderful wine tasting. Fernando is one of the most personable and knowledgeable guides I have ever had. He speaks English fluently and is easy to understand. I highly recommend this excursion and this guide !

    Amazing personalized day trip!

First off. You must know I never write reviews. But I needed to for this one. Our daughter is studying in Florence and we were going to visit her. Once we got to her, we all went to Switzerland for 3 days. I was looking for a day tour for our last day from Zurich. My husband wanted to see a cheese farm and do a chocolate tour. My daughters wanted to visit Liechtenstein or other countries. I looked at tons of tours and most were large bus tours that let you off the bus for an hour. I then saw private tours that were surprisingly not much more than the bus tours. But they didn’t tick all our boxes. I found one but for the extra money didn’t even pick us up at our hotel. Then I saw Fernando’s. He offered a mountain tour with his which we didn’t need since I already had one booked in Lucerne another day. But his said customizable. I messaged him and he set up a call with me right away to go over what we wanted to do during our day. He took us to a cheese farm, a wonderful chocolate tour. Liechtenstein. A wine tour at the princes cellar and he even fit in a stop to a cute town in Austria and we had lunch in a castle! I know this is long but I did my homework for a long time so I just need to tell anyone doing the same how great his company is. He picked us up at our hotel and we were on our way. He is so knowledgeable of the area and pointed out so many things as we went along. He kept us on time for our tour times but fit in time for anything else we wanted to do like shopping, taking photos or visiting a bakery. I highly recommend him. You won’t be disappointed! He joined us in our chocolate tour. He made a chocolate bar for his children (So cute!) Oh, and it was supposed to rain all day but didn’t and he even said he took care of the weather haha. Thank you Fernando for a WONDERFUL day💕

Response from the operator: I'm Speechless Wow! Thank you so much for your incredible review. It truly means a lot—especially knowing that you don’t usually write reviews! It was such a pleasure planning and personalizing your day in Switzerland, and I’m so happy we could fit in everything on the wish list, from the cheese farm to the chocolate tour, Liechtenstein, Austria, and even lunch in a castle! Hearing that you enjoyed every moment, from sightseeing to shopping and even making chocolate, makes my day. And yes, I do my best to take care of the weather too! 😄 I really appreciate the time you took to share your experience, and I hope to welcome you and your family again in the future for more unforgettable adventures. Wishing your daughter all the best in Florence! 💕

Private Tour Zurich to Säntis, Appenzell, and Liechtenstein: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zurich.

How much does Private Tour Zurich to Säntis, Appenzell, and Liechtenstein cost?

    +

Prices start at $1640 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zurich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour Zurich to Säntis, Appenzell, and Liechtenstein take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zurich is not rushed.

Is Private Tour Zurich to Säntis, Appenzell, and Liechtenstein worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zurich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour Zurich to Säntis, Appenzell, and Liechtenstein?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour Zurich to Säntis, Appenzell, and Liechtenstein suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour Zurich to Säntis, Appenzell, and Liechtenstein?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zurich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zurich and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour Zurich to Säntis, Appenzell, and Liechtenstein start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zurich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Zurich?

    +

On Outty we rank every Zurich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Zurich Food Tour with 10 Local Delicacies, Cheeses & Chocolates, Private, excellent guided tour of Zurich (from CHF 21/pers.), Zürich Historic District Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Zurich?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Zurich?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
