An excellent trip to Windsor

The tour was excellent in all ways. The communications before the actual tour were very complete and understandable. Our tour guide, Rowan, was extremely knowledgeable and efficient. The car was clean, comfortable and very roomy. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Aaron was our tour guide and he was great. He was extremely knowledgeable. We had the car from London and it was very convenient being picked up at our hotel. Aaron was with us during the drive and pointed out many sights along the way. Our ages ranged from 11 to 73 and we all enjoyed the experience

An Unforgettable U.K. Adventure with Private London Tours

Title: An Unforgettable U.K. Adventure with Private London Tours ★★★★★ 5/5 I want to start by singing the praises of Private London Tours and, particularly, their fantastic director, Gio. I found him to be the most responsive and supportive throughout the entire planning process. He made excellent, timely suggestions, and the Blue Badge Tour Guides he provided were always punctual and ideally suited to the dynamics of our adult family. For the uninitiated, Blue Badge Tour Guides are some of the best in the business, but I'll leave you to research that; trust me, it's a game-changer! Over three days, Gio and his team curated a magical experience across some of the U.K.'s most iconic locations. Day 1: Our destinations were Windsor Castle and Oxford University/Christ Church College. Our guide Ildi was nothing short of fabulous. Her knowledge of the sites we visited was awe-inspiring, and she bonded effortlessly with our family. We still talk about the great memories from our day with Ildi, particularly the unforgettable Windsor Castle visit and our cherished time at a bookstore in Oxford. A big shout-out to Ildi! Day 2: Highclere and the Cotswolds, guided by the amicable Mike, proved a winning combination. Highclere was a unanimous favorite, with its breathtaking scenery, top-notch tour, and delightful post-tour tea. Mike's tailored approach included a memorable detour to a historic barn and a roadside lunch stop that became one of the trip's unexpected highlights. Kudos to Mike! Day 3: Dover and Canterbury, led by Joanne, I admit I needed to learn more about what to expect, but this day was a treasure trove of surprises. While our time in Dover was brief, it was worthwhile and left us eager to explore more in the future. But it was Canterbury that left us speechless. The city's stunning beauty and rich history had us all in awe. Joanne's passion for the location came through in her detailed explanations, and she fit right in with the family. Canterbury is a definite must-visit! In retrospect, I suggest taking a break after the second day, as walking and absorbing information could be pretty intense. But every morning, the bright smiles from our tour guides in our hotel lobby invigorated us for the day. Special thanks to our driver, whose name escapes me but who was a constant source of joy and greatly appreciated by my family. I cannot recommend Private London Tours and Gio's team of Guides enough. The attention to detail, personalized approach, and unrivaled knowledge of the U.K.'s finest spots made our journey unforgettable. Gio, please pass on our heartfelt gratitude to your exceptional team.

Windsor Castle with Gavin

Our tour with Gavin with the absolute highlight of our entire London trip. The company had excellent pre-tour communication, even sending a picture so we would recognize him when he picked us up in our hotel lobby. We had an excellent driver, and Gavin described many things as we drove out of town. He is witty, charming, and extremely knowledgeable. We bypassed lines and he took our experience to the absolute next level. I cannot recommend this company enough. Please commend him on a job well done. I will always remember our day with him.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Cheryl. I’m delighted you enjoyed both the tour and our service with both Gavin and your driver.

Stonehenge & Windsor Castle - London in Town Tour

We booked two full days back to back. The first day to Stonehenge & Windsor Castle included a private guide and driver. We could not have asked for a better tour guide (Gavin) and driver (Tanveer). The day was perfect. Gavin was able to deliver us so much information throughout the day. He made it fun for all of us. My wife and two children (17 & 19) can’t stop talking about the day. The second day was an in town day of London’s Westminster Abbey, Tower of London (The Crown Jewels & Tower Bridge), & St Paul’s Cathedral? This day was just as perfect as the first day. I strongly recommend this company to show you around London. They truly helped to build great memories for my family. We will never forget our time in London thank to “Private London Tours”.

Response from the operator: Hi Dean! So glad to hear you enjoyed your days with Gavin and Tanveer so much. Memories for a lifetime, as you say! See you soon!

Private Tour: Windsor Castle Day Trip from London: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does Private Tour: Windsor Castle Day Trip from London cost?

+

Prices start at $296 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour: Windsor Castle Day Trip from London take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is Private Tour: Windsor Castle Day Trip from London worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour: Windsor Castle Day Trip from London?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Private Tour: Windsor Castle Day Trip from London suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour: Windsor Castle Day Trip from London?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour: Windsor Castle Day Trip from London start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

+

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

+

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
