A great tour day for exploring beautiful places

This was a wonderful trip. Our driver for the day was Saul, and he did a great job of taking 4 of us to La Paz, Balandra and Todos Santos. He was prompt on arrival. We were told a day before that Saul did not speak English, but luckily two of us are bilingual. It was a 12-hour day, so I'm glad we were able to communicate and chat it up. Saul is very familiar with the road, so we got to places fast and safe. We did the 7am pick up with breakfast in La Paz and a stroll along the malecon. We communicated for a pickup near the end. We queued up for Balandra early and waited just over an hour to get into Balandra. We rented 2 beach chairs and an umbrella from the guys in line (400 pesos). There's also vendors walking around selling beers, drinks, snacks, etc. before you enter the beach. Lucky for us we had a styrofoam cooler with beer and water as promised in the booking. We threw a few more drinks in there that we got at the OXXO in La Paz. Once inside Balandra we got a great spot with more shade against the rocks between the two beaches (to the right). The tide was still high on arrival, so people weren't going to the second beach, but I highly recommend you make the trek and set up there. It's lonelier and well worth it. We ultimately walked that way to see the mushroom rock. It had a crowd, but people waited for their photos. We spent an enjoyable 4 hours at Balandra before heading our. That meant less time in Todos Santos, and that was fine by us. Todos Santos was a very nice town for shopping, ice cream, snacks, etc. We were only there for 45 minutes, but I see the appeal for more time. In the end we were back at our hotel 12 hours later with many great photos. Thanks to Ricardo the tour host and Saul our driver for helping us make great memories. We highly recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much Manuel, wow looks like you guys really had a great day, we are glad you had it. Was a pleasure for us be part of this memories for you.

    Not worth the cost

We paid over $300 for what was no more than a 4 hour ride and some water. I first got an email asking me to pay for a taxi to take us to the main gate of our resort because he couldn't drive up to the lobby. However, he had no problem dropping us off at the lobby on the return trip. I got a second email asking about the ride to the gate and that he'd have water and beers (included in the cost) for the tour. On the "tour", he said very little about La Paz that we couldn’t have Googled. He spent probably a total of 20 minutes talking to us. When we got to the beach, I asked about the beers as it was 90 degrees, and he said he forgot. No apology, just "I forgot". Mind you, we'd spent 2 hours our own eating and shopping right before this. He couldn't make a quick stop? We spent another 2 plus hours on our own at the beach, and still no beer when he picked us up. He took us to another beach with food and drinks. I'd already paid for beer that wasn't provided. He finally asked if we wanted beer when he got gas and were headed back to Cabo. I tipped him $30 USD only because he drove us 4 hours round-trip. He seemed surprised, which says he knew it was not a good "tour". Definitely not worth nearly $90 USD per person (plus tip), and $15 USD for a taxi to drive us a mile down the road. We could have rented a car and done this "tour" on our own.

Response from the operator: Actually this tour it is not a cultural history about la paz or mexico it is not enough time for that and we dont offer that but saddly some people dont read the information. About the beers it is only 2 per person we dont want drunkers on the way anymore. For some hotelswe can not pick you up in the loby we usually send emails explaining this in case you are not agree you can cancel and get refunded but if you say no problem and then you use it as a complaint does not make sense right? If you come for the beers included dont waste our time you can have them in your hometown. This is an experience new and different for you, dont have to like you the beach or todos santos or la paz but give you the chance to see something else, dont compare this town with another in mexico this is completely different an unique.

    Great experience

We had a great experience with Ricardo as our driver from San Juan de Cabo to La Paz, Playa Balandra, Todo Santo, and a couple other stops. Ricardo shared some interesting history of the area, and was very nice.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for coming to Cabo, have a great stay.

Private Tour to Playa Balandra, La Paz and Todos Santos: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cabo San Lucas.

How much does Private Tour to Playa Balandra, La Paz and Todos Santos cost?

    +

Prices start at $637 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cabo San Lucas usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour to Playa Balandra, La Paz and Todos Santos take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cabo San Lucas is not rushed.

Is Private Tour to Playa Balandra, La Paz and Todos Santos worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 22 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cabo San Lucas, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour to Playa Balandra, La Paz and Todos Santos?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour to Playa Balandra, La Paz and Todos Santos suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour to Playa Balandra, La Paz and Todos Santos?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cabo San Lucas can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cabo San Lucas and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour to Playa Balandra, La Paz and Todos Santos start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cabo San Lucas within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cabo San Lucas?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cabo San Lucas experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Humpback Whale Watching Tour in Cabo San Lucas, Cabo Desert Off-Road & Beach Horseback Combo and Tequila Tasting, Cabo All-Inclusive Private Beach Club with Open Bar and Buffet. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cabo San Lucas?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cabo San Lucas?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
