Great tour with Jan from Europe Journey!

We had a great tour as the weather cooperated and we were able to do the planned stops plus 3 or 4 extra that our Guide Jan (Europe Journey) suggested. These included a ride up the cable car to Zwolferhorn, a stop in Strodl and St Wolfgang. We had a wonderful day.

Highly recommend

Beautiful day exploring St Gilgen, recommend the gondola to the top of the alp and explore the trails for spectacular views! Mondsee is a lovely lake side area where you can walk around the like, explore the town and have lunch. For those that enjoy the movie Sound of Music, you can visit the cathedral where the wedding was filmed. A special thank you to our driver Tomas who provided tips on sightseeing and where to explore.

Highly recommend

Our guide Tomas was professional, courteous and friendly. He provided helpful tips on the area. We had a wonderful day touring Mondsee, St. Gilgen and Lake Wolfgang. The gondola located in St. Gilgen to the top of alp provided excellent trails and spectacular views! Highly recommend taking the trip. Mondsee has a beautiful trail around the lake that is pleasant. For those fans of the Sound of Music, Mondsee is where you find the cathedral for the wedding in the movie. Europe Journey did an excellent job with communication before our trip with prompt response to any questions we had. Thank you Tomas for a wonderful experience we really enjoyed our day.

We had a wonderful...

We had a wonderful experience with Daniel for our private tour. He picked us from our hotel in Salzburg and was really friendly all the time. He spoke good English and had a good knowledge about the places we were visiting. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend Daniel for a private tour to lake Mondee and Mt Gilgin.

Response from the operator: Hi, Amol. Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re delighted to hear you had such a great experience with Daniel and that he made your tour enjoyable and informative. We truly appreciate your recommendation!

For walking and relaxing

This village does not deserve too much attention in the guidebooks and was a surprise: it is located on the edge of Lake Wolfgansee; it lends itself to the relaxed walk between picturesque streets, unique buildings, manicured gardens and a varied hotel and restaurant offer.

Response from the operator: Hello, Josef! Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re so glad to hear that you were pleasantly surprised by this charming village by Lake Wolfgangsee. It sounds like you enjoyed the picturesque streets, unique buildings, and beautifully maintained gardens. We’re happy that the range of hotels and restaurants also added to your experience. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back on another relaxing trip soon!

Private tour Salzburg - Mondsee - St. Gilgen with local driver: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Salzburg.

How much does Private tour Salzburg - Mondsee - St. Gilgen with local driver cost?

+

Prices start at $105 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Salzburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private tour Salzburg - Mondsee - St. Gilgen with local driver take?

+

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Salzburg is not rushed.

Is Private tour Salzburg - Mondsee - St. Gilgen with local driver worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Salzburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private tour Salzburg - Mondsee - St. Gilgen with local driver?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private tour Salzburg - Mondsee - St. Gilgen with local driver suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private tour Salzburg - Mondsee - St. Gilgen with local driver?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Salzburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Salzburg and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private tour Salzburg - Mondsee - St. Gilgen with local driver start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Salzburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Salzburg?

+

On Outty we rank every Salzburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Austrian Apple Strudel Cooking Class including Lunch in Salzburg, Salzburg: Palace Concert at the Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace, The Original Sound of Music Tour in Salzburg. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Salzburg?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Salzburg?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
