Could of been better with more dialogue

Trip would of been a 5 but a few things. Felt like the trip was just a ride to locations, pointing to a few things and onto the next. On the last stop we found out the tram to the castle is not running, to much of a hill for one party and we asked if we could go to another location 5 minutes away but was told unable to modify trip, 2 stops is what I was told and my company monitors my GPS, so no flexibility.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback Mark. We’re glad you visited Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein with us, and we appreciate you sharing what could have made the trip even better. Your comments about more dialogue and flexibility are very helpful, and we’ll use them to improve our tours. We hope to welcome you again and provide a smoother 5-star experience next time.

We take our tour at 11:30...

We take our tour at 11:30 , car is clean and driver is good ,.but Not worth for this amount , ,,,,,,

Response from the operator: Dear Delmon, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your private tour from Zurich to Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein. We’re pleased to hear that the vehicle was clean and that you found the driver to be good and professional. At the same time, we’re sorry to learn that you felt the experience did not fully reflect the value you expected for the price paid. We would like to clarify that this service is a private sightseeing transfer, which includes a dedicated vehicle, an experienced English-speaking driver, flexible timing, and door-to-door comfort. The pricing reflects not only the distance and duration, but also the exclusivity of having a private car and driver at your disposal, local operating costs in Switzerland, and the convenience of traveling at your own pace rather than as part of a group. We understand that perceptions of value can vary from traveler to traveler, and we genuinely appreciate your perspective. Your feedback helps us better explain our services and ensure expectations are as clear as possible for future guests. Thank you once again for traveling with us. Should you decide to book with us again, we would be delighted to provide you with another smooth and reliable journey. Kind regards, The Europe Journey Team

Our Viator "Private Tour" Was a Rip-Off

Our private tour booked through Viator on July 20th (Booking ID: 1287382281), costing us $639.86, was an utter nightmare. We expected a knowledgeable guide, but what we got was an incredibly unreliable driver who behaved more like a disinterested chauffeur, if that. Communication was a constant struggle. He'd tell us he'd "be there" at an attraction, only to vanish when we returned, leaving us searching. His delayed texts claiming to be "stuck in traffic" felt like feeble excuses for his prolonged absences. At Rhein and Stein, it was the same story: "call me when you're done." This isn't guiding; it's abandonment. The most shocking part was his lack of professionalism. He actually told us, en route to the waterfall, that "there is nothing to do in Zurich" – completely undermining the very tour we paid for! He offered absolutely no insights, history, or guidance whatsoever. We paid for a private tour and received nothing but an expensive, frustrating ride. This experience fell drastically short of any reasonable expectation for a guided tour. Viator should advertise this service accurately as merely transportation if this is the level of service provided. Save your money and avoid this particular booking at all costs.

Response from the operator: Dear customer, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback with us. We are truly sorry to hear that your expectations for this tour were not met. We would like to clarify an important point: the service booked through Viator is advertised as a private sightseeing transfer with an English-speaking driver, not as a guided tour with a licensed guide. Our drivers ensure safe, reliable transportation between stops and are happy to wait while guests explore independently, but they are not trained to provide in-depth commentary or to accompany guests inside attractions. This distinction is always noted in the tour description, though we understand how expectations can sometimes differ. Regarding the driver’s conduct: we regret that his communication style left you feeling unattended at times. While it is standard practice for drivers to wait in designated areas and arrange a meeting point rather than follow guests into attractions, the coordination should always feel smooth and reassuring. We will review your comments closely with our partner to ensure better consistency in professionalism and communication. We also regret the unfortunate comment you mentioned about Zurich. While drivers may sometimes share personal opinions, such remarks should never diminish a guest’s experience, and we will be addressing this directly. Your disappointment is completely understandable, and we sincerely value your feedback as it helps us refine how the service is presented and delivered. Please know that the majority of our guests enjoy their journeys with us, and we remain committed to providing reliable and pleasant private transfers. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention, and we hope you might allow us another chance in the future to demonstrate the high level of care that so many of our travelers appreciate. Kind regards, The Europe Journey Team

Private tour from Zurich to Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zurich.

How much does Private tour from Zurich to Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein cost?

    +

Prices start at $337 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zurich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private tour from Zurich to Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zurich is not rushed.

Is Private tour from Zurich to Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zurich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private tour from Zurich to Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private tour from Zurich to Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private tour from Zurich to Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zurich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zurich and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private tour from Zurich to Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zurich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Zurich?

    +

On Outty we rank every Zurich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Zurich Food Tour with 10 Local Delicacies, Cheeses & Chocolates, Private, excellent guided tour of Zurich (from CHF 21/pers.), Zürich Historic District Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Zurich?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Zurich?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
