We had booked this...
We had booked this experience in advance and originally thought we would be off the ship at 8:30, but we got off much earlier. I called the number provided and they were able to get our driver Mohammad to arrive earlier than scheduled. Mohammed was an excellent driver and got us to Stonehenge right before opening, so we were first on the bus out to see Stonehenge. He allowed us 2 hours to view Stonehenge, visit gift shop and grab a snack. He was waiting right where he dropped us off, kept our luggage secure, then took us to our hotel close to Heathrow airport.
Response from the operator: Hi Lari, Thank you for your fantastic review! We're delighted to hear our team was able to accommodate your earlier arrival from the cruise ship and arrange for Mohammad to collect you ahead of schedule. We always do our best to be as flexible as possible when travel plans change. It's wonderful to hear Mohammad helped you arrive at Stonehenge before opening, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the site before the crowds. We're also pleased you had plenty of time to explore, visit the gift shop, and relax before continuing your journey, knowing your luggage was safely looked after. Thank you for choosing Cab My Ride. We'll be sure to pass your kind words on to Mohammad, and we hope to welcome you back on your next visit to the UK! Best regards, The Cab My Ride Team

Do not waste your money!
This particular tour is run by a company called “Cab my Ride“. I had numerous discussions with “Raza” prior to arriving in the UK. Raza was adamant that if we left London at 8:30 AM we would have more than enough time to visit Stonehenge as well as arrive in Southampton by 1:30 PM to board our cruise ship. We were outside our hotel by 8:20 AM to ensure that we would not be holding up our driver. Our driver did not appear until 9:10 AM with very little explanation as to why she was so late. By this time, I had called “Cab my Ride“ three times to find out where our driver was. I received zero explanation from them other than for them to say that she was on her way. We were staying at the Savoy Hotel and apparently, she did not even know how to access the front of the hotel without her speaking to one of the hotel doormen on my phone. At this point in time, her only explanation was that London is always busy with various road closures. That didn’t help us out a whole lot! If you work for a company that provides private transfers, one would think that you would plan ahead for situations that might arise. We paid £53.90 for our tickets to Stonehenge. We had been told by “Raza“ that we would have at least an hour and up to 2 hours at Stonehenge. As a result of our driver arriving so late, (whose name we were never told) we spent a grand total of perhaps 30 minutes at Stonehenge. This was not actually viewing time, as we had to stand in line to check in with our prepaid tickets and then stand in line again for roughly 10 - 15 minutes to wait for the shuttle bus that took us out to Stonehenge. We took a grand total of two pictures, turned around and got on the next shuttle bus back to the entrance. Once we got back to the main building, I then had to call the company once again to find out where our driver had parked because she failed to tell us where she would be other than “I’ll be around here“ when in fact, she was nowhere around “here“. Throughout the duration of our trip, our driver would often travel at speeds of up to 140 km/h. This was on one and two lane highways and caused her to brake consistently and quickly. Hopefully, we receive a refund from this company to cover the cost of our Stonehenge tickets, and they take the time to explain to their drivers that they should plan ahead and know what road closures are going on in the city. Out of all the times we have booked Viator for various tours in various countries we have never experienced a tour as bad as this one.
Response from the operator: Hi Arlene, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. We fully appreciate how disappointing it must have been to have less time at Stonehenge than originally planned. Unfortunately, on the day of your journey, there were significant traffic issues and road restrictions across central London which affected your pickup time. While our team worked to keep the journey moving and ensure you arrived at Southampton in time for your cruise, we recognise that this impacted your visit to Stonehenge. We would like to clarify that the Stonehenge stop is intended as part of a transfer experience between London and Southampton, and the amount of time available at the site can be influenced by traffic conditions, passenger schedules, and cruise embarkation requirements. Our priority will always be ensuring guests arrive safely and on time for their onward travel. We are pleased that, despite the delays, you arrived at Southampton in time for your cruise departure. We have also reviewed your concerns internally, including the communication on the day and the directions provided at Stonehenge, as we are always looking for ways to improve the customer experience. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you an enjoyable cruise. Kind regards, The Cab My Ride Team

Not a “tour”—transport with a stop.
“Private Stonehenge Tour” is a misnomer; this is actually transportation from London to South Hampton with a stop in Stonehenge. The Stonehenge “tour” is not included; in fact, there is no guided tour and you must purchase your tickets independently to walk Stonehenge.. That said, our transportation was excellent: driver on timr, vehicle clean, safe driving, and pleasant conversation.
Response from the operator: Hi Rich, Thank you for your detailed review. We’re glad to hear you had an excellent experience with your driver, punctual, safe, and pleasant service is exactly what we aim for! Just to clarify for future travellers, this service is a private transfer with a sightseeing stop at Stonehenge rather than a guided tour, and entry tickets must be purchased separately. This is noted on the Viator listing, but we appreciate you highlighting it so others know what to expect. We’re pleased you enjoyed the journey overall and hope to welcome you aboard again soon! Best regards, The Cab My Ride Team

Awesome Transfer from London to Southampton Port via Stonehenge
Driver, Ian was wonderful. He answered many questions about British culture, the area and made recommendations for us about the stop at Stonehenge.
Response from the operator: Hi Betty, Thank you for your lovely review! We're so pleased to hear Ian made your journey from London to Southampton via Stonehenge both enjoyable and informative. His knowledge and friendly conversation always make the experience that bit more special. We really appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you again on another trip soon! Easy pickup, efficient delivery... with a glitch.
My driver, Ian, was a nice and friendly chap. Communication at pick up was great. We didn't stop at Stonehenge, and I'm not sure where the lines got crossed. So, my recommendation is to be very clear on selections on booking and when communicating with operator.
Response from the operator: Hi Eric, Thank you for your review and for sharing your experience. We’re pleased to hear Ian made your journey friendly and efficient, and that communication at pickup went smoothly. It sounds like there may have been some confusion around the Stonehenge stop - this particular service can be booked either as a direct transfer or with a sightseeing stop included. We always recommend double-checking those options when booking to ensure the right selection is made. We appreciate your feedback and are glad you still had a pleasant experience with Ian. We hope to welcome you again soon for another trip — hopefully with a Stonehenge visit next time! Best regards, The Cab My Ride Team

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Stonehenge Tour London or Southampton: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.
How much does Private Stonehenge Tour London or Southampton cost?
+
Prices start at $330 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Stonehenge Tour London or Southampton take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.
Is Private Stonehenge Tour London or Southampton worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 40 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Stonehenge Tour London or Southampton?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Stonehenge Tour London or Southampton suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Stonehenge Tour London or Southampton?
+
Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Stonehenge Tour London or Southampton start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in London?
+
London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit London?
+
May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in London?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
